Mangaluru, Apr 25: A 35-year-old man was hospitalized with severe injuries after an unidentified miscreant stabbed him in an alleged murder bid early on Monday morning.
The condition of the injured, identified as Nasfal, a resident of Ullal, is out of danger, sources said.
It is learnt that he was waylaid and stabbed at around 4:00 a.m. when he was riding his motorbike towards Mangaluru fishing port.
A case has been registered at jurisdictional police station. More details are awaited.
Bengaluru, Apr 29: Janata Dal-Secular leader and former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday accused the central government of writing off loans of those who are facing charges of fraud.
In a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy slammed the central government.
"Really? At a time when the whole world is worried about unprecedented economic emergency, writing off Rs 68,000 crore loans of willful big fish defaulters became the best antidote to the economic crisis? And how is 50k cr package to mutual funds going to help the common man?" he tweeted.
In another tweet, Kumaraswamy said that "Billionaire scamsters like Vijay Mallya, Mehul Choksy, Sanjay Junjunwala seem to be very dear to this government".

Mysuru, Mar 3: Three leopard cubs were rescued by a team of Forest Department in Mysuru on Tuesday.
The cubs were found in a sugarcane field and came into notice of a farmer while cutting the sugarcane.
The villagers alerted the forest department which rescued the three cubs.
Udupi, Jun 1: As many as 73 people have been tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi district today.
The district has registered a total of 260 positive cases so far. Majority of the positive cases in Udupi district have inter-state travel history to Maharashtra.
