Under-trial rape accused from Sullia found hanging in Mangaluru jail

udupira Mangaluru, Sep 7: An under-trial inmate has allegedly killed himself inside the district prison in Mangaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Keshava Gowda (38), a resident of Bellare in Sullia taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.

He was an accused in a sexual assault case and the trial of the case was going on.

According to sources, he was found hanging by jail authorities on Wednesday morning. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of Government Wenlcok hospital for post-mortem.

It is leant that the undert-trial had used a piece of cloth to hang himself from the window grills inside the prison.

last week i heard one news regarding several mobiles found inside the jail?, in mangalore jail anything can happen.

this is the position of our police in india, they even cant save inmates in jail.

our constitution says: Is It Better That Ten Guilty Persons Go Free Than That One Innocent. this case must have some story of wrongfulness.

what will be the reason behind his suicide, may be he was wrongly inducted in this case.

Karnataka sets up critical care support to monitor COVID-19 patients

Bengaluru, Apr 15: The Karnataka government on Wednesday opened a critical care support unit to monitor the progress of Coronavirus patients in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) of various designated COVID hospitals across the State.

Karnataka is the first state in the country to establish a dedicated unit for critical care support, by linking ICUs of COVID hospitals onto a single platform, Medical Education Minister Sudhakar K, who inaugurated it, was quoted as saying in a statement on Wednesday.

Its objective is to monitor COVID-19 patients in ICUs across Karnataka state so that the hospitals are prepared for the potential onslaught of the virus and thereby to achieve zero COVID mortality in Karnataka, he said, adding, it would enable capturing details of ICU COVID-19 patients in real-time

Karnataka to introduce Bag-less day in Schools from next academic year

Mysuru, Jan 12: Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar on Saturday said that the State government is planning to introduce 'Bag less Day’ in a week from next Academic year across the State.

He said that the State government is also working out on reducing the weight of the School bags carried by children.

The Minister was speaking after inaugurating ‘Civic sense is my duty – Questioning is my right’ programme organised at Kautilya Vidyalaya in Kanakadasanagar here.
