Bengaluru, Feb 23: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP Karnataka president BS Yeddyurappa put the focus on unemployment, farmer suicides and women's safety in the state. He was speaking Friday at a forum as part of Prajavani's 'Vision Karnataka' series.

"One of our key issues today is unemployment. Another is farmer suicides," said Yeddyurappa. "I am a farmer, and these are key agenda points for me. My pledge is to make Karnataka a model state that embodies the PM's 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' initiative."

“I am the first chief minister who introduced Bhagyalakshmi Yojana for women," he said. "Employment opportunities, safety and empowerment of women are focus points not just for the state, but for all of India, as you know."

Yeddyurappa said that the police should be given a free hand when it comes to safety. "Giving a free hand to officers will ensure better law and order," he said, and "regarding crimes against women - immediate punishment."

Yeddyurappa said that his party has a long-term plan for Bengaluru, which includes focusing on the Metro, suburban railways, lake rejuvenation and making it a green city as well as a silicon city.

Unemployment of whom ? Siddaramaiah claims 15 lakhs jobs have been created but has yedduyurappa the guts to ask how many native Kannadigas got the job ?

Regarding cauvery why he did not even open his mouth on SC judgment .
Was there a gag order from Delhi high command. He did not have guts to even welcome the judgment. Probably he knows it was outright injustice to Karnataka but he is helpless and is concerned about his career ! Of course Cong & JD-S also did not have the guts.

Regarding atrocities on women nothing prevents Modi govt. making stringent laws and Karnataka will definitely welcome it. But Modi is too busy with "Man ki bath " , Foreign tours. All he knows is vandemataram & Yoga and of course mudslinging on congress which anyway it rightly deserves.

So native Kannadigas reject the three parties BJP, Cong & Jd-S and
and bring a Kannada party to power or follow the crowd like fools
and dig your own grave. Ignore all the posts of migrants & traitors .

Udupi, Jul 26: Two persons including a lady doctor have been arrested by the Kaup police in Udupi district for trying to use fake salary documents to avail loan from a bank to buy a car.

According to police, on July 24, the doctor had visited Bank of Baroda's branch office at Kaup Moodabettu. She had approached the branch manager for a car loan for herself and her brother. She claimed that her monthly salary is Rs 2.66 lakh.

The bank verified the details furnished along with the loan application. The bank found that even though the doctor had furnished salary slips of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, she was presently not employed there.

The bank manager has filed a complaint at Kaup police station, accusing the doctor of trying to cheat the bank by availing loan on the basis of fake documents.

The police registered a case and nabbed her when she visited the Katapady branch of the same bank today. The police also arrested a man, who according to the doctor, created fake documents for her.

Bengaluru, Jun 14: Karnataka Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar on Sunday said there was no question of reimposition of the lockdown amid speculation that it would be done.

"The question of lockdown is not in front of us. There is such speculation as the Prime Minister is holding a video conference with all Chief Ministers on June 16 and 17.

On June 17 our state will be taking part in it at around 3 pm," Mr Sudhakar said in response to a question.

Speaking to reporters at Kalaburagi, he said the current situation would be discussed in that meeting. Mr Sudhakar said the Prime Minister has repeatedly been holding such video conferencing exercises to take stock of the situation and plan for the future.

"There will not be a lockdown anymore according to me," he added.

There has been speculation that there would be another shutdown from this month owing to a rapid rise in the number of cases.

Mangaluru, Jun 3: The district administrations of Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod have issued standard operating procedures (SOP) for the movement of people between two neighbouring districts that fall under two different states.

Even though thousands of people used to commute between these two districts due to employment, education and other reasons every day, the travel has been banned for over two months due to covid lockdown.

Dakshina Kannada DC Sindhu B Rupesh has assured that travel passes will be issued for working professionals/students who have to commute every day.

Those who wish to travel to DK district from Kasargod have to register on https://bit.ly/dkdpermit for daily pass.

The pass applicant should mention the travel destinations, and the complete work address in DK. He/she should also upload Aadhaar card, proof of workplace. On receipt of the applications, the AC of Mangaluru division will issue the pass which will be valid till June 30.

The DC said that the pass details will be recorded at Talapady check post daily. Those who fail to report during the exit from Dakshina Kannada will be subjected to quarantine by the taluk administration and penal action will be initiated as per Epidemic Act, she warned.

Thermal screening of all persons entering DK will be conducted at the checkpost. Only those who are asymptomatic will be allowed to enter.

As per the SOP issued by Kasargod District Collector, those who wish to commute between these two districts have to register in COVID-19 Jagratha portal under the emergency pass category and the applicant has to mention the reason as “inter-state travel on a daily basis."
