University of West London Proposes to Start Branch Campus in UAE

University of West London is one of the prestigious Universities in UK with a heritage of 150 years in teaching and professional Education.

First Founded as the Lady Byron School in 1860, the institution as it exists today was originally formed from the merger of Ealing College of Higher Education, Thames valley college of Higher Education, The London College of Music and Queen Charlotte’s College of Health Care Studies. Initially it was Thames Valley University later rebranded as University of West London.

In 2009 the University was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize for outstanding achievement and excellence in hospitality education from Her Majesty the Queen as recognition of the quality of its teaching profession.

The Business School in the University coming under Claude Littner Business School which is one of the Top 10 in UK and the University is one of the Top 10 in placement in UK. The University of West London has one of the best employment rates in the country with 96% of students in work within six months of Graduating. These are the latest figures according to Employment Performance Indicators (EPI) released by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) in 2015.

University of West London – UAE Campus

The Proposed Branch Campus of the University of West London will operate in UAE in collaboration with Wisdom Education Group and will be the only Branch Campus of University of West London in the Middle East Region.

Initially University Intends to offer MBA (Master of Business Administration), BABS ( BA Hons in Business Studies), MSc in Finance and Accounting, , BA ( Hons) in Accounting and Finance, BA (Hons ) Travel and Tourism Management courses in UAE.

In Sept 2018 University intends to start Tourism and Airline Management courses.

University also intends to expands its courses in Law, Engineering, Computing, Film, Media, Design and Music in staged phases.

The Board of Governor’s resolution has been passed and signed by University of West London regarding setting the Branch Campus in UAE and the Final MoU has also been signed with Wisdom Education Group .

The University has already applied to Academy Zone, RAKIA for Branch Campus License, which is now under the approval process. University intends to start offering course from May 2017 subject to approval from Academy Zone,RAKIA.

Dubai, Apr 21: Saudi Arabia reported 1122 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 10,484, the Ministry of Health announced on Monday (April 20).

Ministry of health announced 27% of the cases are for Saudis, while 73% for non-Saudis, and ages ranged from one month old baby to 96 years old.

Meanwhile, the ministry reported 92 recoveries today, with total recoveries in the kingdom at 1,490. There are 96 cases in intensive care.

The ministry also confirmed 6 deaths on Monday, bringing the total number of deaths in the kingdom to 103.

The Saudi health minister on Monday announced that 47 billion riyals were approved by the goverment to support the health ministry in this pandemic.

Also the minister in a press confrence referred to the large numbers of cases revealed in past days saying, "During the past three days, everyone noticed an increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus, due to the active testing of areas."

Dubai, July 18: An NRI student who passed away in Dubai shortly after shortly after attempting his Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Grade 12 papers in March, has scored an impressive 91.4 per cent on his board examinations, including 100 in his media studies paper.

Ahmed Ziyad, a student of GEMS Our Own Indian School in Al Qouz, Dubai, died on March 19, suffered a heart condition called Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) that stopped him from being active in sporting activities.

Ziyad's parents, teachers, and classmates remember him as a very ambitious pupil, who wanted to launch his own business and achieve great things in his life. His board results are - mass media studies 100, Marketing 97, English 84, Entrepreneurship 82, and Home Science 94.
 
Ziyad's father, Shanavaz Manangath, a real estate professional who has been a resident of Dubai for over two decades said, "Six months ago, he had collapsed while playing with his friends. Since there was an irregularity in his heartbeat, he could not take part in any strenuous activities." He added, "Ziyad had just started playing with his friends on March 19 when he suddenly collapsed and died shortly after. My family has not been able to overcome his loss."

Unable to hold back his tears, an emotional Manangath said Ziyad wanted to do his BBA and launch his own business, "He was very ambitious. Honestly, I haven't looked into his board exam results, but, I know he had studied very hard for the exams."

Dubai, Apr 11: Saudi Arabia has reported another 382 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 4,033, the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.

The ministry also confirmed five more deaths from the virus, pushing the death toll in Kingdom to 52.

A total of 35 people has made full recovery from the deadly disease, taking the tally of patients recovered to 720.
