Want a separate residence to focus on my fight, says RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav

Patna, Dec 17: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav said on Sunday that he sought a separate government residence to focus on his mission of defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. Speaking to news agency, Tej Pratap, the elder son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad, said: "Does Tejashwi not have a separate residence? Earlier also I didn't live at 10, Circular Road (the bungalow allotted to his mother as a former chief minister), I used to live elsewhere. I have to focus on my fight. How will I win the fight if I go and sit at home?"

Tej Pratap further said his applications for a new residence have not been responded to yet. "I wrote to the chief minister a month or two ago. I also spoke with (Minister of Building Construction Department) Maheshwar Hazari, but I have got no response yet," he said. He also dismissed rumours of rifts within the family.

"I reconciled with her (my mother) yesterday (during a relative's wedding). I have my elder's blessings and guidance," the former Bihar Health Minister said. However, Tej Pratap evaded questions on his divorce with Aishwarya Rai, saying the matter is in court.

Tej Pratap returned to the party office today for the first time since his divorce with Aishwarya Rai on November 2. He attended a meeting with workers from the party's youth wing, where he held discussions over a youth rally slated to be conducted in the state capital soon.

Tej Pratap confirmed that Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his younger brother Tejashwi will be invited for the rally. However, the date is yet to be decided, he said.

New Delhi, May 28: BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has been admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon after he showed symptoms of COVID-19, sources said.

He is admitted to the Medanta hospital in Gurgaon, hospital sources said on Thursday.

The BJP leader has shown symptoms of COVID-19, a source said.

Patra is one of the most visible BJP faces on news channels.

He is also very active on social media and posted several tweets on Thursday as well.

New Delhi, April 3: The total number of coronavirus cases in India on Friday climbed to 2301, including 156 cured and discharged and 56 deaths, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

At present, there are 2088 COVID-19 active cases in the country.

"A total number of COVID-19 positive cases rises to 2301 in India, including 156 cured/discharged, 56 deaths and 1 migrated," said the Health Department.

The highest number of positive cases of coronavirus was reported from Maharashtra at 335, including 16 deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu (309 and 6 deaths) and Kerala (286 and 2 deaths).

There are 219 coronavirus positive cases in the national capital, including 8 cured and discharged and 4 deaths.

The states which have crossed 100-mark for COVID-19 positive cases also include Andhra Pradesh (132), Karnataka (124), Rajasthan (133) and Telangana (107).

While 18 people were detected positive for coronavirus in Chandigarh, 70 cases were confirmed from Jammu and Kashmir and 14 from Ladakh.

In North-East, one COVID-19 case each has been confirmed from Mizoram and Assam, and two in Manipur.

New Delhi, Jun 22: With an increase of 14,821 new cases and 445 deaths, India's COVID-19 count reached 4,25,282 on Monday.

According to the latest update by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), 13,699 deaths have been recorded due to the infection so far in the country.

The rise in confirmed cases today is lower than the highest spike of 15 thousand plus cases registered on Sunday.

The count includes 1,74,387 active cases, and 2,37,196 cured/discharged/migrated patients.

Maharashtra with 1,32,075 confirmed cases remains the worst-affected by the infection so far in the country. The state's count includes 60,161 active, 65,744 cured, discharged patients while 6,170 deaths have been reported due to the infection so far.

Meanwhile, the national capital today became the second-worst affected region in the country with the number of confirmed cases in Delhi reaching 59,746 as opposed to Tamil Nadu's 59,377 cases.

While 2,175 deaths have been reported in Delhi due to the infection so far, the toll in Tamil Nadu stands at 757.
