When Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor Shared Stage Together

April 18, 2016

Mumbai, Apr 18: Ever since their split in 2007, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor have played the avoidance game. The former flames made sure they never crossed each other's paths and even when they found themselves under the same roof, maintained a distance.

Their relationship went sour just before their film Jab We Met (2007) released and even took a toll on their next project Milenge Milenge (2010) as they refused to promote it together. Now nine years later, Bebo and Sasha came face-to-face. The duo shared the stage at the trailer launch of their upcoming film, Udta Punjab, held on Saturday night at a multiplex in Andheri. They do not share scenes in Abhishek Chaubey's film on the drugs menace in Punjab, but they had to share the dais for the promotions. The two refused to stand side-by-side, so it was left to co-star Alia Bhatt to be in between them.

From their body language, it was clear they were uncomfortable and the awkwardness showed. Sasha even avoided looking in his ex's direction. And when Bebo appeared uneasy, she did what she does best - fiddle with her tresses or pout for the shutterbugs. While talking about his character in the film, Shahid who essays a rockstar addicted to drugs, explained how he had to step out of his comfort zone as he does not even touch alcohol off-screen. This made Bebo give a 'now don't I know this expression' which was highly amusing.

When the two were asked if they would ever be a second coming of their 2007 film Jab We Met, a blushing Bebo quipped, "That's for Imtiaz (Ali, the film's director) to answer no, Shahid." While he retorted, "If Imtiaz Ali was to make it, he would have by now. Imtiaz has moved on." Bebo then said if the audience wanted to see them together, the DVD of the film was always there for them.

About not sharing screen space in Udta Punjab, Sasha said, "So you are asking, are we happy or unhappy about something that has not happened?" Towards the end, when photographers requested that the two pose together, Kareena and Shahid stood away from each other and called Alia to come in between them again.

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan may have moved on and Bebo's hubby Saif Ali Khan is even acting with Shahid in Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, but coming face-to-face with your ex ain't easy and the two just made it apparent.

New Delhi, Jan 9: A Delhi court Thursday directed the makers of the Deepika Padukone starer feature film 'Chhapaak' to give credit to acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal’s lawyer in the movie.

Additional Civil Judge Pankaj Sharma said it was necessary that advocate Aparna Bhat's contribution is acknowledged.

"This Court is of the considered view that facts are indicative that the plea of the plaintiff for interim injunction is well-founded and it is necessary that her contribution be acknowledged by providing on the slide on the actual footage and the images, the line 'Aparna Bhat continues to fight the cases of sexual and physical violence against women' during the screening of the film.

"The said line on screen maybe with a rider that the same is with the court order," the judge said.

Advocate Bhat filed the application saying that despite representing Agarwal in courts for several years and helping in the movie-making, she was not given credit in the movie.

She said the filmmakers took her help in the entire process of writing and shooting the movie, but did not give the credit.

Mumbai, Jul 21: Police have recorded statements ofthree psychiatrists and a psychotherapist as part of their probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput last month, a senior official said on Monday.

Their "statements were recorded over the last three- four days" by the Bandra police who are probing the case, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IX) Abhishek Trimukhe.

The late actor was consulting these mental health professionals and hence their statements were recorded as part of the ongoing probe, police said.

Rajput was undergoing treatment for depression since November 2019, they said.

Rajput, 34, was found hanging in his suburban Bandra apartment on June 14 in what the police claimed was a case of suicide. In the initial investigation, the Mumbai police had found that the actor was under medication for depression.

So far, the police have recorded statements of over 36 people, including director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra, actress Sanjana Sanghi and Rajput's friend Sandip Singh, among others.

Rajput's friend, actor Rhea Chakraborty, has also given her statement to the police.

Filmmaker Aditya Chopra recorded his statement in connection with the case at the Versova Police Station on Saturday.

Rajput starred in films such as 'Shuddh Desi Romance', 'Raabta', 'Kedarnath' and 'Sonchiriya'. But his most prominent role came as cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the biopic, 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story'.

Mumbai, Jan 9: Actor Juhi Chawla on Wednesday said instead of constantly criticising the government, one should reflect on own conduct and talk about uniting rather than dividing.

The actor attended an event which aimed to counter "Free Kashmir (narrative), anti-India slogans, false propaganda and clear the misconception."

Juhi said as artistes, it's unfair to be questioned about incidents "just for a reaction" when they should be given time to truly understand the situation.

"We are going to work, thinking how to execute our task, then some incident happens somewhere and suddenly the media asks, 'what do you think about this?' We haven't understood the matter, people haven't understood the matter but you need a reaction.

"Let people understand, whether it's NRC or CAA, and what's is it about, why is this being talked about," Juhi told reporters.

The actor said it is sad that people talk about division more than unity.

"Everyone is quick to talk about dividing. Why don't we talk about uniting? Why does everyone say 'what is the government doing, why is it doing this?' but I say if you point one finger there then three fingers are at you.
