Bhatkal, Feb 29: Linking Islam to terrorism, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Karnataka has called to wipe out the religion of Islam from the world.

AnantKumarHegdeAnant Kumar Dattatreya Hegde, a member of parliament, who represents coastal Karnataka's Uttara Kannada constituency, in a press meet at his native Srisi on Sunday stated that terrorism could not be wiped out as long as Islam remained in this world.

Stating that Islam is a hurdle for the global peace, he said that uprooting the “religion of Arabians” is the only way to end violence and terrorism in India and other countries.

He went on to declare Bhatkal, a Muslim dominant town which falls under his constituency and Azamgarh of Uttar Pradesh as the two epicentres of terrorism in India.

Mr Hegde also accused a section of politicians and media of supporting terrorism and “anti-national activities” besides campaigning against “nationalists”.

Meanwhile, a video clipping of Mr Hegde appealing press persons not to hesitate to publish his remarks against Islam, has gone viral on WhatsApp and other social media.

Bengaluru, Jul 6: As COVID-19 cases continue to surge in Karnataka, more than 20 police stations were sealed in Bengaluru after many policemen tested positive for novel coronavirus.

"Since the last few weeks, the number of COVID-19 cases in the police department has increased as many of the policemen have tested positive, so that's the reason why the police have taken a decision to close police stations," Bengaluru Commissioner of police Bhaskar Rao said.

He added, "However, people can lodge their complaints and other issues can be solved in help desks launched outside premises of the police station. Most of the areas where positive cases found in the police station are been sealed down for the safety of the people and sanitised them."

However, some of the police stations would be functional from outside the premises.

Commercial Street, Cottonpete, Chickepete, KG Halli traffic police station are among the few stations closed due to scare of the coronavirus spread after some policemen tested positive in particular stations.

Rao further said that the traffic police, civil police along with home guards have been given safety gloves, face masks, and sanitizers along with face covers by the department of police.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 23,474 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state, as of Monday.

Bengaluru, May 25: After facing flak from the opposition for skipping quarantine rules to contain COVID-19 spread, Union Minister Sadananda Gowda on Monday said there are certain exemption clauses for those who hold certain responsible posts, adding that he cannot go under quarantine as he has to ensure medical supply in every part of the country.

"Guidelines are applicable to all citizens, but there are certain exemption clauses, for those who hold certain responsible posts," Gowda told media on being asked about allegations by opposition parties that he did not go to required institutional quarantine after domestic air travel from Delhi to Bengaluru.

"I am a Minister and I am heading Pharmaceutical Ministry. If the supply of medicines and other things is not proper then what doctors can do for patients, is it not a failure of government? It' is my responsibility to ensure the supply of medicines to each corner of the country," he said.

Earlier in the day, the BJP MP, who arrived at Bengaluru airport from Delhi and straight away got into his car and drove to his residence. He skipped the institutional quarantine measures as set by the Central government.

Karnataka Director General of Police Praveen Sood said: "Incoming domestic flight passengers from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will undergo 7-day institutional Quarantine followed by home quarantine."

This is called has nagpur soldiers. He might think this virus has given excuse to all bjpean's or why he jumped out from the airport quarantine regulation. If the virus infected to any others what will.he do. What will his media will telecast. Same like Delhi they will target some other community.

All must be away from him and his associates.

Here it is the duty of each individuals to keep distance and stay safe.
