Tehran, May 6: Iran refuses to get bogged down by the US threat to bring amendments to the Iranian nuclear deal formally called as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

As reported by the Sputnik News Agency on Saturday, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said "(Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action- JCPOA) This is an international agreement. and we certainly have the capacity to defeat your bullying."

He, while delivering an address on the Iranian state television, said each successive government would have their own view while adding that what is the guarantee that the next government would not demand something else while referring to United States President Donald Trump who has repeatedly criticised the Iranian nuclear deal, signed during the Obama administration.

Trump had earlier referred to the deal as "the worst deal" of all times.

He recently threatened to pull out from the JCPOA if it does not get amended while refusing to provide Iran with any relief from the US sanctions.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had earlier warned that if the US pulls out of Iran's nuclear deal, it would have to face severe consequences.

The JCPOA was signed on July 14, 2015, by Iran, the European Union, Germany, China, France, the United Kingdom and the United States also known as P5+1.

It guarantees the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear programme. Following that Iran had pledged to not develop or acquire nuclear weapons in exchange for the cancellation of sanctions imposed against the country.

May 15: Global deaths linked to the novel coronavirus passed 300,000 on Thursday, while reported cases of the virus are approaching 4.5 million, according to a news agency tally.

About half of the fatalities have been reported by the United States, the United Kingdom and Italy.

The first death linked to the disease was reported on January 10 in Wuhan, China. It took 91 days for the death toll to pass 100,000 and a further 16 days to reach 200,000, according to the Reuters tally of official reports from governments. It took 19 days to go from 200,000 to 300,000 deaths.

By comparison, an estimated 400,000 people die annually from malaria, one of the world’s most deadly infectious diseases.

The United States had reported more than 85,000 deaths from the new coronavirus, while the United Kingdom and Italy have reported over 30,000 fatalities each.

While the current trajectory of COVID-19 falls far short of the 1918 Spanish flu, which infected an estimated 500 million people, killing at least 10% of patients, public health experts worry the available data is underplaying the true impact of the pandemic.

Farukkhabad, Jan 14: In a shocking incident, a new-born baby was mauled to death by a dog inside the operation theatre (OT) of a private hospital in Farukkhabad on Monday.

Family members of the baby boy said that they noticed the hospital staff shooing a dog away from inside the operation theatre and soon after, they were told the baby boy, born just two hours ago, was dead.

The family members said that they found the baby's body on the floor and it had deep gashes around the neck and other parts of the body.

District magistrate Manvendra Singh has ordered an FIR and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Chandra Shekhar said the hospital has been sealed and an inquiry ordered into the incident.

Sources said that the hospital where the incident took place was unregistered and was being run adjacent to a government hospital.

According to the FIR lodged with Sadar Kotwali police, the infant's father Ravi Kumar said he had admitted his wife Kanchan in the hospital on Monday and she was taken for a C-section to the operation theatre.

After the delivery, Kanchan was shifted to the ward but the family was told that the baby would be shifted later.

An hour later, the family was informed that the baby had died.

The family members then saw the hospital staff trying to chase a dog out of the operation theatre.

The family members forced their way into the operation theatre and found the infant lying on the floor with several injuries on the neck.

The police said that the baby's body has been preserved for examination and post mortem.

The FIR has been registered against Dr Mohit Gupta, and some of the staff members who were present during the delivery.

The hospital owner, Vijay Patel, however, feigned complete ignorance about the incident and said that he had been told that the baby was born dead.
