Worship Hanuman, not Tipu Sultan: Yogi Adityanath’s message to Kannadigas

In an apparent attempt to divide society on communal lines ahead of 2018 Karnataka Assembly polls, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of trying to convert Karnataka, “the land of Bajarang Bali”, into “a land of worshippers of Tipu Sultan”.

After inaugurating the BJP's district-level Parivartana Yatra convention at Nehru Stadium in Hubballi, Adityanath called upon the Kannadigas to bring a government that supports worship of Hanuman and not Tipu Sultan.

He not just lauded the 'development model' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but also charged that the Congress government in the State is not at all interested in development, but is just dividing the society on caste and religion basis.

"When Lord Hanuman is being worshiped across the country, the Congress government in Karnataka, the State known for Vijayanagar Empire, is promoting worship of Tipu Sultan. The Congress is insulting our rich tradition. Siddaramaiah should have respected the feelings of the people, while making statements about beef consumption. With continuous murder and poor law and order situation, 'Rakshak' has become 'Bhakshak' here, and anarchy is prevailing," Adityanath observed.

He alleged that Congress leaders were trying to divide society on the lines of caste in Karnataka, like they did in Gujarat, and people should give them a befitting reply by rejecting them.

Adityanath then went on to accuse Mr. Siddaramaiah of “lowering the dignity of the Chief Minister’s post” by failing to respect public sentiment regarding eating beef.

Visits Mutt

Earlier in the day, Adityanath visited Moorusavira Mutt. After having the darshan of Gurusiddheshwar Gadduge, he met Moorusaviramutt pontiff Sri Gurusiddha Rajayogindra Swamiji.

When Yogi Adityanath arrived at the convention venue, the crowd there raised 'Yogi, Yogi' slogan. Elaborate security arrangements were made as he has Z Plus security cover.

Thousands of people attended the BJP convention, and some of them came in processions too, led by some BJP leaders. BJP banners, buntings and hoardings dotted the City.

After the event, traffic congestion was experienced at Chennamma Circle, Court Circle, Ambedkar Circke, Desai Cross, and other areas.

Many people had come with a curiosity about the announcement regarding Mahadayi dispute. Later, several Mahadayi agitator expressed discontent, saying that a mere letter from Goa CM would do nothing.

Dear Yogi, first be a true indian before preaching Kannadigas whom they have to respect and pray.  No need to tell us anything.  Your own state is in darkness and how come you will enlighten Karnataka.  Your state is number one in killing of Dalits/ minorities / girls etc etc.   You are spreading hate among the people.   You are not worth to be a CM.

A pregnant elephant in Kerala ate a pineapple, which was filled with country-made bombs or dynamites. It led to a painful death as the elephant was pregnant and died standing in the Velliyar River in Palakkad in Kerala. People are venting out their anger and concerns all over social media about the gruesome incident.

Yesterday, it was reported that the pregnant elephant was killed after locals allegedly fed her a pineapple stuffed with crackers.

However, when International Business Times, India, reached out to Dr Ab Qayoom, who is an Indian Forest Service Officer, for his comments about what actually must have happened, we got to know that no one have fed the pineapple to the elephant.

Snares used for keeping animals away

Dr Qayoom stated that pineapples filled with firecrackers are used as a snare for catching wild boars. He said, "No one would have fed the pineapple to the elephant. The animal must have found it lying somewhere and must have consumed it herself not knowing what lies ahead for her."

He also stated a second possibility. He said, "Some people actually do such insane things as they consider wild animals as a threat to their property and life. Such incidents do happen at places where wild animals create problems for human beings."

Snares are often found around farms, coffee plantations

He added that wild boars often spoil crops and people use snares as a way to protect their farms and crops. This year, it was reported that the government would soon permit farmers with licensed firearms to shoot wild boars that wander into their lands. The problem is that people do not limit their snares to only wild boars and there have been several incidents when tigers, leopards and other animals have fallen prey to these haphazardly placed snares around farms, coffee farms and wildlife corridors.

Elephant kept standing in water before dying

The pregnant wild elephant originally belonged to Silent Valley National Park (SVNP), Palakkad. As the elephant died, she remained calm despite being in excruciating pain. The elephant kept standing and died at Velliyar River, Malappuram, with its trunk in the water.

The elephant was 15-years-old and was probably getting some relief as it stood in the water after her tongue and mouth exploded. Mohan Krishnan, Section Forest Officer, Nilambur, shared the sad incident on his Facebook page where he had acted as the Rapid Response Team official to rescue the elephant, which was in distress.

When a postmortem examination was carried out, it was learnt that the reason for the elephant's death was due to asphyxia where water had got into her lungs and trachea. Dr David Abraham, Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Thrissur, carried out the postmortem.

Dr David said, "I have so far done more than 250 postmortems of elephants alone in my more than two decades career. But this was the first time I was so moved as I could hold the foetus of the baby in my hands. Initially, none of us was aware that the elephant was pregnant. After seeing her heart, I spotted the amniotic fluid and realized that she was pregnant."

Srinagar, Jan 14: Davinder Singh, deputy superintendent of police, who was arrested on Saturday along with two Hizb terrorists and a Hizb overground worker in Kulgam, has confessed to his interrogators that he had received Rs 12 lakh from the terrorists to ferry them to Jammu and then Chandigarh for their onward journey to New Delhi, IG (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar told the media here on Monday.

Intelligence sources said the terrorists planned to carry out attacks on Republic Day.

The DSP was suspended on Monday and is likely to be stripped of all his awards, including the President’s Police Medal for anti-militancy operations.

Davinder, who was interrogated by various intelligence agencies, including IB, military intelligence and RAW, besides the police, has disclosed that he had put up the terrorists at his Indira Nagar house in Srinagar, right next to the Army’s 15 Corps HQ, and thereafter accompanied them to Jammu in a Maruti car driven by the Hizb overground worker, intelligence sources claimed.

Meanwhile, sources said the Union home ministry may hand over the case to the NIA to find the real motive of the terrorists, Davinder’s links to terrorism and whether he had helped terrorists in the past as well.

The two Hizb terrorists arrested with Davinder are Naveed Babu alias Babar Azam, a resident of Nazneenpora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, and his associate Rafi Ahmad Rather. The Hizb overground worker, identified as Irfan Shafi Mir, was driving the vehicle when it was intercepted by the police on Saturday. Irfan Shafi Mir has travelled to Pakistan five times on his passport.

Davinder, interestingly, was on duty ensuring security cover for the envoys of 15 countries who visited Srinagar at the Union government’s invitation last week.

There is 2 side for Terrorism, none have dare to attack or bombing unless there is hand from IB, Police and Intelligence (Also RSS support). Frequent bombings or terror attacks was stopped when Hemant Karkare emerged as true officer.
