Mangaluru, Dec 4: Over one hundred devotees took part in the modifiedyede snana' on the premises of the Sri Subrahmanya Temple at Kukke on the outskirts of the city on Saturday on the occasion of Chowthi and the annual fair.

1yede'Yede Snana' is an alternative evolved in place of the controversial, age-old practice of Made Snana, wherein lower caste devotees roll over the left over food partaken by the Brahmins.

After the mahapuja, food offerings made to the presiding deity Sri Subrahmanya, were laid on about 432 plantain leaves spread at the outer precincts of the temple.

Temple cows were allowed to consume the food initially, after which the devotees performed theyede snana'.

Thereafter, they had bath in the Darpana Teertha outside the temple before having the darshan of the deity.

The temple administration had made elaborate arrangements for the peaceful observance of the ritual, which is being done for the fourth time since 2014.

Temple managing committee president Nityanand Mundodi, executive officer Ningaiah, and others were present on the occasion.

Wake up guys...
Quran says ALLAH is the creator of all that exists
All human beings are equal , Racism is not allowed in ISLAM...
Quran speaks of human equality in the following terms:
O Mankind, We (God) have created you from a male and a female and have made you into nations and tribes for you to KNOW one another. Truly, the NOblest of YOU with GOD is the MOST PIOUS . Truly God is all knowing, all aware. (49:13)

Islam REJECTS certain individuals or nations being favored becos of their wealth, power or race.

Prophet Muhammad pbuh said O people! Your God is ONE and Your forefather (Adam) is ONE. An arab is not better than a non arab and a non arab is not better than an arab. A white person is not better than a black person nor a black person is not better than a white person EXCEPT in PIETY...

Learn who is the CREATOR .. U will recognize the deception of all this superstitious rituals all around us...

Bengaluru, Mar 22: Monday's only pending II PU exam (English) and SSLC exams scheduled to start on March 27 have been postponed due to Covid-19 concerns. The new dates will be announced in April first week.

The decision was taken after a meeting with chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday morning, said state primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar.

Around 8.25 lakh students are to appear for the Class 10 exam.

"I appeal to SSLC students not to get frustrated. I know you're fully prepared, fully geared up. But this is a peculiar situation which calls for hard decisions. The new timetable will be published very soon. Students should treat is as an extended study leave. Please revise more. Do not treat this as a relaxation time. You'll have plenty of time to relax after the exams," he said.

Kochi/Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 7: The Managing Director of Muthoot Finance company was injured after miscreants allegedly pelted his car with stones here on Tuesday morning following which one person was reportedly taken into custody.

George Alexander Muthoot, who suffered head injury has been admitted to a private hospital, police said.

A section of employees have been agitating against the Muthoot management over dismissal of 160 staff from the company's 43 branches across the state in December.

The protest is being held under the aegis of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).

While the Muthoot management alleged that "CITU goons" were behind the attack that occurred at around 9 am in front of IG office here, the union leaders have maintained that they have no role in the incident.

Reacting to the incident, Labour Minister T P Ramakrishnan said he does not think any of the Muthoot employees were behind the attack.

"The employees were protesting peacefully. Violence is not part of their protest. Even now, in today's incident, I don't think any of the Muthoot employees attacked the MD.

However, it was the management of the company which had always provoked them by not implementing the decisions taken at conciliatory meetings," the Minister said.

If the management was prepared to change its stance, all the issues would be resolved, he said.

CITU leader Ananthavattom Anandan told reporters that they do not believe in such type of violent mode of agitation.

An official of the Confederation of Indian Industries Kerala chapter condemned the incident, saying "it is a matter of great concern".

Well known businessman and founder chairman and CEO of V-Guard Industries, Kochouseph Chittilappilly condemned the attack and said it was unfortunate that such incidents still continue in the state.

“Earlier also such incidents have taken palace. It's highly condemnable. The union leaders will now claim that the incident took place without their knowledge. But without the backing of union, such incidents will never happen,” he said.

Kerala-headquartered Muthoot Finance is the largest gold financing company in India.

Kasaragod, June 2: As Kerala commenced fresh academic year with online classes from Monday, a ninth-standard student at Malappuram district in North Kerala ended life allegedly owing to lack of online study facilities like television connection and a smartphone at her house.

Devika, daughter of Balakrishnan, hailing from a Dalit community at Valancherry, about 25 kilometres from Malappuram town, ended her life.

Balakrishnan told the media that he could not recharge the television connection owing to financial crunches. He was working as a daily wage worker and owing to COVID-19 and lockdown, he was not having much work these days.

The family also did not have a smartphone or computer. The family members alleged that Devika was quite upset as she could not attend the virtual class that began on Monday. She was a student of a nearby government school.

Local police said that Devika, who was the eldest among four children of Balakrishnan, was suspected to have self-immolated using kerosene at a premise close to her house on Monday evening. The cause and provocations were still being probed only. No suicide notes were recovered yet.
