Yediyurappa to campaign in Assembly Polls in Maharashtra

Bengaluru, Oct 15: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will campaign for BJP candidates in the Maharashtra Assembly election slated for Oct 21.

He will address rallies to woo the voters. According to the Chief Minister’s office here, Mr Yediyurappa will leave for Maharashtra tomorrow and address public meetings at Sangli, Solapur, Akkalkot, Chakur and Latur on Wednesday.

He will return to the State capital after visiting the Dattatreya temple in Ganagapur in Kalaburagi on Thursday.

Sources said Mr Yediyurappa has been campaigning to woo Kannadigas and Lingayats in Maharashtra.

The BJP has roped in Deputy Chief Ministers Laxman Savadi, also a Lingayat leader and C N Ashwath Narayan for the party's campaign in Maharashtra.

Mangalore, May 30: The first chartered flight to the city of Mangalore, Karnataka in South India is scheduled to depart from the Ras Al Khaimah airport of UAE on June 1.

The SpiceJet flight, chartered by Praveen Shetty, chairman of the Fortune Group of Hotels and president of the Karnataka non-Resident Indian Forum (KNRI), will repatriate 105 staff members of the hotel group, who have been placed on leave, according to a statement issued here on Saturday.

Consul General of India to Dubai Vipul confirmed the reports and said the flight, which will depart at 0945 hrs, will carry home a total of 180 passengers.

Bengaluru, Jun 10: The Karnataka Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday conducted raids at 14 places linked to four government officials in the state.

On receiving received credible information about the officials amassing disproportionate assets, an illegal assets case was registered and raids are being conducted at 14 places linked to them, ACB said in a release.

It said the raids are still on and investigation is being carried out about their assets.

Raids are being conducted on properties linked to L Sathish Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Department of Commercial Tax; N Ramakrishna, Divisional Forest Officer, Srinivasapura, Kolar; Gopalshetty Mallikarjuna, Executive Engineer, District Development Cell, Raichur; Raghappa Lalappa Lamani, Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd official in Almatti, Bagalkote, the release said.

Bengaluru, Feb 6: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that portfolios for the 10 new ministers who sworn in on Thursday will be allocated by February 8.

Speaking to media persons, he said that he will go to Delhi in the coming days and the date of his visit will be finalised soon.

He is expected to meet the high command again to finalise the list of BJP MLAs for three berths in the Cabinet.
