Yenepoya's Homoeopathic, Ayurveda medical college hospitals to come up

Mangaluru, May 31: Yenepoya Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital and Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital will come up at Naringana village of Bantwal taluk soon.YU

The groundbreaking ceremony was held recently in the presence of Maulvi Sayyad Kunhi Koya Thangal Kumbol, Yenepoya University Chancellor Abdulla Kunhi, Vice Chancellor Dr Vijay Kumar and others.

Yenepoya University has established Yenepoya Homoeopathy Treatment Centre and Ayurveda Health Care Centre as a holistic health care under Ayush at various places of Mangaluru since 2015-16 as outpatient and in-patient care facilities providing Homoeopathic and Ayurvedic treatment under expert care.

The university is establishing Homoeopathic and Ayurvedic Medical Colleges and Hospitals at its new campus on 35 acres of land at Naringana from 2018-19 by establishing a 25-bed homoeopathic hospital and 100 -bedded Ayurvedic Hospital.

The campus will have a garden of medicinal plants of Ayurveda as well as Homoeopathy further expanded by Research Centre, recreation centre, hostels, staff quarters and sports complex.

Mangaluru, Jun 29: A three year old child lost its life after being hit by a car at Nadupadavu village under the limits of Konaje police station on the outskirts of the city today. 

The victim has been identified as Faheema (3), daughter of  Farooq, a resident of Nadupadavu. 

The mishap occurred when the girl ran towards the road when the car was entering a main road from an inner road.

Bengaluru, Jun 18: Examination for PU II English paper, which was postponed for more than three months due to threat of Coronavirus, was held on Thursday across the state.

The authorities were forced to postpone the examination of the English subject, scheduled in March, abruptly due to the threat of Covid-19 which spread like wildfire and has so far claimed lives of more than 100 in the state.

There are over 1,016 examination centres across the state. All the students were put to thermal scanners and were ensured wearing face masks. Each centre has sanitisers. Those with cold, cough and fever were assigned a separate room.

Mangaluru, Jul 20:  Ananthapadmanabha temple at Kudupu on the outskirts of Mangaluru will be closed for devotees on the occasion of Nagara Panchami on July 25 due to Covid-19.

Ananthapadmanabha temple at Kudupu is one of the famous temples in Dakshina Kannada dedicated to Naga (Serpent God) where Nagara Panchami is celebrated in a grand way.  The temple committee said that "Nagara Panchami will be observed on July 25. To avoid large gatherings, the entry of devotees is banned. The devotees should not visit the temple, thereby extend cooperation with the temple committee."

On the day of Nagara Panchami, no sevas, theertha and prasadam will be distributed. There will be no mass feeding as well.
