Lucknow, Jul 1: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who recently completed 100 days in office, described Triple Talaq as a social problem and it would be good if Muslim society itself resolves it.yogi

" Triple Talaq is a social problem, it would be good if Muslim society itself resolves it," Adityanath said in an interview.

He also said that the difference in male - female sex ratio has to be reduced. Muslim women have to come forward for their rights, he added.

He further said that there were some recommendations of the Central Waqf Board which have to be and are being implemented.

"There were some recommendations of the Central Waqf Board which were implemented," he said.

Adityanath said he was satisfied with the work done by his government in the first 100 days.

He said his government would continue to work for all sections of society without discrimination.

"We are satisfied with the work we have done in the first 100 days of our government, but 100 days is little for change or development in any state. We want to assure people that the government has started initiatives to take Uttar Pradesh forward on path of development," Adityanath said.

He accepted Uttar Pradesh was ravaged by nepotism and castism and expressed the hope that his government would change the dynamics in the state.

He praised for government's initiatives to start the anti-Romeo squads for better women security and for waiving off farmers loans as one of significance.

He said around 86 lakh farmers have benefitted with the waiver.

"Waving off farmer loans will not affect developmental works in the state. Loans worth Rs. 22,000 crore were waived off for sugarcane farmers. It's our aim to protect farmers. We're buying five times more wheat from them," he said.

Pledging to achieve open defecation free status in the state, he said that every household in the state would have a toilet by 2018.

Adityanath further said that his government has asked the Centre to provide 24-hour power supply all villages in the state.

The 44-year-old chief minister had taken oath with two deputies and 44 other ministers on March 19 after the BJP won 325 out of 403 state assembly seats.

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 24: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that there is no community spread or the expected phase three spread of coronavirus in the state so far but the threat continues.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Vijayan said that Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode, and Malappuram districts will be in the red zone with full restrictions.

"All the other ten districts in the State will be in the orange zone. With the detection of new cases today, the status of Kottayam and Idukki districts have been changed from green to orange. The district administration will decide on the hotspot areas to be closed," he said.

He said there would be an increase in the number of random tests in the red zones.

"In an effort to confirm that there is no community spread in the State, random antibody tests would be conducted among health workers, police personnel, home delivery persons, volunteers and migrant labourers," he added.

The Chief Minister said that COVID-19 labs set up at the Pariyaram Government Medical College at Kannur and the Kottayam Medical College have got the approval from the ICMR for coronavirus testing. The lab at Kannur Medical College will start functioning from Friday.

The UV sterilised lab, spread over 2,200 sq ft is equipped with four real-time PCR machines. In the first phase, this lab will be able to do 15 tests per day, which will be gradually increased to conduct 60 tests in the next phase.

"With the opening of these two new labs, tests to detect COVID-19 will be conducted in 14 government labs in Kerala. Apart from this, there are two private labs also in Kerala which are doing these tests. Since the number of coronavirus cases is again increasing in the State, the government has decided to procure ten real-time PCR machines to ramp up testing," he added.

Shivamogga, May 21: An FIR has been registered against Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district of Karnataka over tweets on May 11 by the party's official handle about PM-CARES fund.

The FIR, registered under Sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), identifies Gandhi as the handler of the social media account.

The complaint by advocate Praveen KV alleged that the Congress party, through the tweets, has made rumourous statements against the Government of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was trying to provoke the people against the government.

According to the FIR, the Congress party had on May 11, 2020, made false and baseless allegations, claimed misappropriation of PM-CARES Fund and cast aspersions on the Government of India through the tweets.

"A Twitter account handled by All India Congress Committee headed by Sonia Gandhi had on May 11, 2020, published tweets terming PM CARES Fund as PM CARES Fraud. They had claimed that the PM CARES fund is not being used for the public," Praveen KV told ANI on Thursday.

He said that he has collected all the details related to the tweets and account from the handle and filed a complaint in the matter, following which a preliminary enquiry was conducted and an FIR was registered in the matter.

"They had also said that the Prime Minister was enjoying and going to foreign trips with this fund. This is clearly rumourous news against the Government of India in this COVID-19 pandemic situation. In this regard, I had filed a complaint. After a primary enquiry, the Sagar Police has filed an FIR against Sonia Gandhi, who heads the INC Twitter account," Praveen KV said.
