'You will get 100 times more than whatever assets you have': Here’s the transcript of alleged call by Reddy

Bengaluru, May 18: Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party has continued its efforts to poach MLAs from opposition parties, the Congress on Friday released an audio clip where mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy is heard offering money to the Congress's MLA from Raichur Rural.

Reddy is also heard offering the MLA, Basanagouda Daddal, a berth in the council of ministers.

The offer, according to Reddy, has BJP president Amit Shah's approval. Daddal defeated the BJP's Tipparaju by 9964 votes in the May 12 polls.

Janardhan: Basanagouda...are you free?

Basanagouda: Yes, I’m free sir...

Don’t remember all the bad things that happened in the past. I am telling you in the middle of the night that good times have started for me. I’m telling you directly. Janardhan: I have only one point to tell you. During the BSR time, it was a very bad time for me where there was a very hostile environment. We have all lost a lot, there are no two words on that. You will grow a 100 times if you listen to me. You know Shivanagouda Naik, he listened to me and became a minister. Hasn’t he become strong now as an MLA and a man who can stand on his own feet? Didn’t all of it happen because of me? What about Raju Gouda? Didn’t he become, because of me? Your tragedy, in our bad time, you and we didn’t match. But today, Shivanagouda Naik, even if he wins, it is of no use. You will become a minister. Do you understand? I will make you sit with the big man, one to one and I will myself make sure both of you talk. This country, the way they are giving the administration, you are seeing it. Whatever assets you have, you will get 100 times more, Basanagouda.

Meanwhile, BJP reacted to the latest developments and denounced the audio clip released by Congress by dubbing it 'fake'.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar called the release of the audio clip as the 'handiwork of Congress' dirty tricks department' while speaking to ANI.

Karnataka govt to build guest house for Kannadiga pilgrims in Ayodhya

Bengaluru, Aug 8: Anticipating a huge number of pilgrims from Karnataka to start visiting Ayodhya following the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Ram temple, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Friday requested his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath for two acres of land to build a 'yatri nivas' (guest house).

"A large number of pilgrims from Karnataka would be visiting Ayodhya. The government of Karnataka wishes to construct a yatri nivas for the pilgrims visiting Ayodhya," Yediyurappa wrote to Yogi.

"I request you to grant two acres of land in Ayodhya for this purpose," he said.

The Chief Minister said the yatri nivas will be constructed for the benefit of pilgrims from the southern state.

He also congratulated the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for successfully laying the foundation stone for the Ram temple on Wednesday.

PIL in High Court for preventing religious conversion of SC/ST

New Delhi, Mar 12: A PIL was moved in the Delhi High Court on Thursday seeking directions to the Centre to take appropriate steps for stopping religious conversion of socially and economically downtrodden people, particularly of the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe community.

The plea claims that the government has done nothing to stop religious conversions.

The plea is listed before a bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar on Friday.

The petition, by BJP leader and lawyer Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, alleges that many individuals, NGOs and institutions are converting downtrodden persons by "intimidating, threatening, luring by monetary benefits and by other acts, including miracle healing, black magic and more".

"Many individuals/organizations have started conversions of SC/STs in rural areas and the situation is very alarming. The mass religious conversion of the socially economically downtrodden men, women and children, and, in particular of the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe community, is on the rise in the last 20 years," the petition claims.

It further claims as per the 2011 census, Hindus constitute 79 per cent of the population down from 86 per cent in 2001 and if no action is taken "Hindus will become minority in India".

Upadhyay suggested enacting of a law to prevent conversions by force or deceit and to award jail term for any violation.

"Additionally, the State may empower the National Human Rights Commission to deal with the affairs of religious groups and analyse religious discrimination among them," he suggests.

Apart from seeking steps to prevent religious conversions by force, threats or deceit, the petition also wants directions prohibiting religious gatherings "intended to mislead people by making false and untenable claims" to lure ignorant masses to join a particular faith or religious group.

First of all we should know what is religion and what is its purpose.

Religion should be scientific to acceptance. It should not be blind tale.

Religion is a set of divine commands how to lead the life to be successful here and also it should lead to success if there is a life after the death.

If it can assure, we should not worry to accept. Such religion can not be more than 1. Because we all believe 1 Supreme God who has the control over every creature. If we understand and accept it, then we should accept 1 and only religion which is the real religion.

You can not force anybody to accept 2+2=5.

If religion can prove its doctrine to be not contradicting the science then no worry to accept it.

There should be open debate of all religions then the truth will come in black and white clearly.

Leave the panel to decide which is the right one. Once proved, brave people will accept it without fear.

No need any law. If you have good product why do you worry to sell it.

7 foreign nationals arrested in Karnataka for violating visa norms

Bengaluru, Aug 4: The Central Crime Branch-Bengaluru conducted raids at 35 locations in Hennur and Banaswadi areas on Tuesday morning and arrested seven foreign nationals without valid passports and visas.

The Crime Branch also recovered fake currency during the raid, which is currently underway, informed the police.
