Bengaluru, Mar 28: Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Bengaluru South Tejasvi Surya has found himself at the centre of a controversy after a woman broke her silence and accused him of abusing her for five years.

Amidst controversy over BJP’s decision to field this 28-year-old hardline Hindutva activist from the prestigious constituency, a businesswoman, Dr Som Dutta, took to Twitter to share some grisly details about him.

In a series of tweets, which are since inaccessible, Som Dutta accused the BJP candidate of being a 'womaniser, abuser and woman beater' and asked people if they wanted to 'blindly support him'. She also alleged she was not his first victim or would be the last and also claimed to be ready to share the proof.

Som Dutta said that she suffered for over five years before she made it stop by taking serious measures. She said that she was not his first victim, nor his last.

Dutta's tweets were shared by the Karnataka Congress, which asked if Tejasvi was another M J Akbar in the making and said that Bangalore South will remember the candidature.

However, after her tweets went viral, Dutta deleted them and put up a tweet asking people to leave the issue alone, as they are both from good families and people will get hurt if the matter is dragged further. At this time, her Twitter profile appears to be inactive.

His forefathers in India use to impose Breast Tax (Mulakkaram or mula-karam in Malayalam) was a tax imposed on the lower caste and untouchable Hindu women by the Kingdom of Tranvancore (in present-day Kerala state of India) if they wanted to cover their breasts in public, until 1924. Secondly he continuously molested and sexually tortured female named Som Dutta for 5 years and she broke her silence recently in social media. Now this "molester" without any knowledge barking in public about Arab women.

However the lock down has hindered follow-up treatment for these critically ill as the Karnataka authorities has been steadfast in restricting entry into their land.

The people of Kasaragod has been largely depended on the medical facilities in Mangalore for critical illness care. It was the gross inadequacies in critical healthcare in the district besides rather-easy proximity to nearby and bigger town that many residing on the north-east of the district have since long been making it to Mangalore for treatment of critical illness like cancer, dialysis and the alike.

Bengaluru, Apr 20: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday came down heavily on Congress legislator BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan over the Padarayanapura vandalism that saw a mob run amok against efforts to quarantine suspected COVID-19 persons late on Sunday evening.

Khan, who represents the Chamarajpet constituency where Padarayanapura is located, said that authorities should have gone to the area during day time.

“Who is he to say that? What does he have to do with this? Why should we ask him? Should we get his permission to carry out government work? Instead of saying that action should be taken, he is speaking like this. Should we then think that he incited the mob? This is the height of being irresponsible,” Yediyurappa said.

Following the violence, the police have arrested 54 persons and “five more will be arrested,” Yediyurappa said.

Khan clarified that he did not defend those who indulged in vandalism. “I condemn the incident and action should be taken. I’m not saying officials shouldn’t have gone. My point is that they should’ve gone during the day and by creating awareness beforehand that people need to be quarantined,” he said, adding that the BBMP had identified 57 people to be quarantined in Padarayanapura.

“People in this area are poor, uneducated and are mostly coolie workers and daily wagers. But whatever happened was wrong,” Khan said. He also pointed out that he was the one who arranged for 80 people to be quarantined in Tipu Nagar.

Yediyurappa said the Padarayanapura incident was unprecedented. “In the entire state, never had such incidents taken place. Everybody agrees this is unacceptable,” the CM said. “Whoever breaks the law - Hindu, Muslim, Christian or anyone - should face action,” he said.
