Young engineer on duty falls to death at Yettinahole project site

Sakleshpur, Apr 20: A young electrical engineer working for a private company died after he fell 70ft down at the Yettinahole project site at Yettinahalla Sakleshpur recently.

The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Kukatanuru, 33, a native of Akki Colony in Vijayapura.

According to the police, Kukatanuru was employed with Amruth Constructions, one of the companies involved in the project.

He fell while he was repairing a crest operation box. He was attached to a crest gate at Yettinahalla on a crane about 70ft high and fell down along with the crane and died.

His brother, Mahendra Kukatanur, has filed a complaint with Sakleshpur Rural Police blaming P.V. Rao, head of the company, and Rajan, a manager, as responsible for his death.

This is very tragic incident. Site in charge Mr.Rajan chose to accompany wife for voting. He was giving very lame excuses not to meet grieving family members.till today none of the management bothered to call it send a condolence message. Mails sent to management are unanswered.

 

Such is the management who doesn't care for their employees

Bantwal, Jun 5: A very rare white python, which had entered a house at Kavalakatte in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada, was caught by snake catcher Snake Kiran on Friday handed over to the authorities of Pilikula Nisargadhama.

This extremely rare white coloured python known as Albino was seen in the house of one Naushad.

The occupants of the house as well as residents of the area were panicky over seeing it. 

Later a friend of Naushad informed Snake Kiran who caught it and handed over to the care of Pilikula as per the advice of forest officer Sridhar.

Mangaluru, Apr 12: Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has appealed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Karnataka government Jawaid Akhtar to exclude Dakshina Kannada district from hotspot/ red zone area pertaining to coronavirus, saying that the district has not reported any new case since last five days.

KCCI president Isaac Vas said DK district has not reported any new case of COVID-19 in the last five days. Of the 12 cases reported in the district, six are from Kasargod and one from Bhatkal.

None of the patients suffering from coronavirus are in ICU or put on ventilator, he said in a statement.

Bengaluru, Feb 7: A preliminary charge-sheet has been filed in three cases in the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) betting and match-fixing case.

In Cubbon Park case, chargesheet against six accused which includes two team owners-- Ali and Arvind Reddy, one KSCA management committee member Shinde, two players Gautum and Kazi and one bookie Maavi are charge-sheeted.

Apart from this, charge-sheet filed in Bharatinagar PS case against six accused while in JP Nagar case four accused-- Bafna, Sayyam, Jatin and Harish-- have been charge-sheeted.
