Bengaluru, Oct 10: A young software engineer with Accenture was stabbed to death by two bike-borne men near Chocolate Factory, Tavarekere main road, south Bengaluru, around 3am on Monday.
Pranay Mishra, from Bhubaneswar and a resident of Tavarekere, was on his way to meet his girlfriend and colleague who stayed in the neighbourhood when he was killed.
According to the police, Pranay had been to a friend’s party on Sunday night and returned to his home in Suddaguntepalya, near Tavarekere in Madivala police limits, around 1 a.m.
He then reportedly called her girlfriend and told her that he would be coming to meet her.
He left his home on his bike around 2 a.m. and was en route when he was waylaid and killed in a secluded spot off Chocolate Factory Road.
His friend, anxious that he hadn’t reached, was calling him repeatedly. Passers-by found Pranay lying on the ground bleeding.
One of them answered the call and informed her of the incident.
He was shifted to a hospital in Koramangala where he was declared brought dead. The police found his wallet and phone on him at the crime scene. The Madiwala police have registered a case.
Pranay had completed his degree in Bhubaneshwar and was working for a software services company as an information security engineer.
