Mangaluru, Aug 6: A youth died of electrocution on the premises of Ullal Dargah on the outskirts of the city on Monday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Yusuf, a resident of Adkare Padpu.
He is said to have been working at laying an asbestos sheet on a building on the premises when he came in contact with live wire.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
Mysore, Apr 1: A team of the state Health Ministry on Monday visited the pharmaceuticals company whose several employees were tested positive for COVID-19.
The team asked the remaining employees to stay under quarantine in separate rooms.
"The department is investigating whether this company has got any connection with China or received any object which might have brought coronavirus with it," said Jawaid Akhtar, principal secretary of the health department.
Karnataka Health Minister on Wednesday confirmed that the current COVID-19 positive cases in the state stood at 101.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases have reached 1,637 in India, including 1,466 active cases, 133 cured/discharged/migrated people and 38 deaths.

Besides being an impeccable actor, especially his perfect comic timings, Michael was also passionate about dancing and was huge fan of Michael Jackson. This was one of the major reasons why he added Michael to his name. He had entered the film industry with an aim to become a popular choreographer, but destiny had something else in store for him. Michael Madhu is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Fans of Michael Madhu have been sharing condolences on social media ever since the news of his death hit the internet. As per a report in media, the actor’s last rites will take place today.
Madikeri, Aug 6: Heavy rainfall triggered landslides at Brahmagiri hills in Talacauvery in Kodagu on Thursday.
Four members of the Talacauvery temple priest family are missing in the landslides informed Annies Kanmani Joy, Kodagu DC.
She also informed that Advanced Rescue Team has been rushed to incident site.
According to the reports, houses belonging to two priest families were destroyed in the incident.
However, one house was vacant as family had moved to Bhagamandala.
Visuals from Kodagu showed a flood-like situation, with houses and vehicles submerged under rainwater.
Meanwhile, heavy rains continued to lash Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts on Thursday.
