Mangalore, January 5: A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by three of his friends at Marippalla in Bantwala taluk on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Nooruddeen, who was an accused in a ganja peddling case.
Police have arrested the accused namely Imran, Hafeez, Noufal. The motive behind the crime was yet to be ascertained.
A case has been registered in the jurisdictional police station. Investigation is on. More details to follow.
Mangaluru, June 21: A gang of miscreants intercepted a goods auto-rickshaw which was legally transporting beef from an abattoir to market and attacked its driver in heart of the city this morning.
The attack comes exactly a week after a gang of Bajrang Dal miscreants thrashed a cattle trader at Urwa while legally transporting four buffalos to Kudroli abattoir on June 13.
Today, a person identified as Abdul Rasheed was transporting around 200 kilograms of beef from Kudroli abattoir to Kankanady market.
Meanwhile, miscreants began to chase beef laden vehicle and managed to waylay it near Highland Hospital. They thrashed Abdul Rasheed and poured kerosene on the beef besides damaging the vehicle.
The miscreants fled in their car and motorbikes after passersby began to gather.

There should not be any pity on goondas/ terrorists belonging to sangh parivar. The terrorists who thrashed the auto driver and damaged the auto and burnt the meat by pouring kerosene are not human beings and should be treated as anti nationals + terrorists. Mangaluru, May 13: Kannadigas in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have sought additional flights to return to Karnataka during a video conference with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa here on Tuesday.
Noting that most of the ex-pats in UAE were from the coastal region, they urged the state government to ensure that most of these flights land in the Mangalore International Airport.
Many Kannadigas in the UAE were left unemployed due to the lockdown. “Many of them do not have the means to return to Karnataka and the state government should aid them,” representatives of various Kannadiga ex-pat groups urged the CM.
Yediyurappa said that the government has made all arrangements to bring back the ex-pats, and assured to fulfil all their demands.
Mangaluru: The sixth Judicial Magistrate of First Class court here today remanded techie-turned-bomber Aditya Rao to 10-day police custody.
36-year-old Rao, the prime accused in planting improvised explosive device at Mangaluru International Airport, was handed over to Mangaluru police by their Bengaluru counterparts yesterday.
He was produced before the magistrate court amidst tight security. The police sought for 15-day custody for interrogating him.
Justice Kishore Kumar, the JMFC court judge inquired Rao if he was subjected to police torture and if he had any lawyer to represent him in the case. Rao is said to have replied in the negative for these questions, it is gathered.
The judge finally decided to send the accused to police custody for 10 days.
