These letters have reached the youths by post though they had not applied for any job. The letter states that they have been selected for jobs under direct recruitment and will be getting a salary of Rs 32,000 per month. The letter has asked the candidates to pay Rs 12,000 as security to get their appointment confirmed.

The letter states that various multi-national companies have invested capital to the tune of Rs 45 lakh crore under the Digital India Programme and those residing in rural areas fare a better chance to get the jobs. The candidates will givens posts such as office assistant, computer operator, driver and several similar posts.

Interestingly, the letter has also stated that training will be given for each post and DA of Rs 600 per day will be given after 15 days of training. The candidates will be entitled to medical benefits in any part of the country and their salary will be directly credited to their bank account. The candidates have been asked to make a security deposit Rs 12,300 in a bank account and this money will be returned after 15 days of completing their training, the letter states.

The letter is written entirely in Hindi and no bank account number has been given for the security deposit to be paid. Instead a mobile number - 09643782461 – is mentioned and the recipients of the letter have been asked to call the number to know the bank account.

When the candidates have tried contacting this number, the cell phone is switched off.

The letter also has a logo of Government of India and a photograph of Prime M Minister Narendra Modi describing the Digital India concept.

Fakir Sab Nadaf, a resident of Lokur village too has received this letter. He said he tried his best to elicit information from various ministries about the jobs offered under Digital India. But, it has come to light that several candidates from other parts of the country too have received similar letters.

Fakir said if this is a fake letter, an investigation should be ordered to ensure those behind the letters are brought to book, before more job aspirants fall prey to such fake appointment letters.
