Mumbai, Jul 22: In more trouble for doctor-turned-Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, as one of his alleged followers has been arrested by the Maharashtra ATS and the Kerala Police in a joint operation in connection with suspected conversion case of missing Kerala youths.

arrestedPolice sources said that Arshid Qureshi was arrested after one of the relatives of a missing youth from Kerala accused the former of instigating Hindus and Christians to stop idol worshipping and accept Islam.

Meanwhile, news agencies such as ANI and Times of India have claimed that Arshid Qureshi was a close aide of Dr Zakir Naik and that he was recruiting Kerala youths for the terror outfit Islamic State. However, police have not confirmed these allegations.

Based on a complaint of a Kerala family, the police have booked Qureshi under Sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 34 IPC and 13 UAPA.

If Qureshi's links with IRF is established, this could be the first arrest of a Dr Naik's organisation, which is under scanner since a section of media claimed that two of the Bangladesh cafe attackers were inspired by his preaching.

According to reports, Qureshi was held after the police raided a flat in Seawoods. He was produced before a magistrate's court in CBD-Belapur on Thursday and remanded in transit custody for four days. He will be questioned by the Maharashtra ATS and later taken to Kerala.

Ebin Jacob (25), the brother of Merin alias Mariam who is missing along with her husband Bestin Vincent alias Yahia from Kerala, had told police that there was an attempt to forcibly convert him to Islam and make him join IS.

Ebin had reportedly told Kochi police that Bestin and Qureshi were behind the attempted conversion.

Based on this statement, the Palarivattom police slapped charges under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) on the duo and booked them under sections of the IPC.

The case against Qureshi and Bestin could be the first registered under UAPA against any of the 21 Keralites who have gone missing under suspicious circumstances.

Dear Guru,
Zakir naik studied Comparative religions and it is his right to tell the TRUTH...
In Vedas it is mentioned that NA TASYA PRATIMA ASTI. (There is no idols).. For so long YOur own hindu priests have misguided U guys and ask u people to worship the man made creation like Pratima, idols, pictures, status, worst is the animals and some even worse, they worship the naked people instead of following the Scriptures.

Now ZAKIR naik is telling the truth that there is no IDOL worship in Hinduism itself and the people (who says we are Head) who discriminate others are the leaders of YOUR religion...
U have to learn Y VEDAS say NA TASYA PRATImA ASTI... read and PONDER on this verse also compare it with what ISLAM says about Worshiping ONE GOD.... without image or statues... It will be clear to U & U will realize U are being FOOLED by the HEADS to bow down to the CREATION of ALLAH (god).
God's help come if YOUR intention is HONEST and U search for the TRUTH... TRY it (Just say : O the one who created ME - Guide ME)

TRUTH will prevail Falsehood will perish... even if the deception is as high as the mountain... which many people are blind to see.

Brother Guru,

Brother Neither Naik nor rss gangs can harm India. It is only our thinking ,assumptions promote it.Zakir Naik is a self made man, since it is duty of every mislim to invite non muslim for dialogue(da'wah) ,he is following it.We are obliged to spread the Islamic views to world or else it is a debt on us when we die.Thats it.He was doing his duty.He didnot force anyone to Islam. As he himself asks the non muslim openly do anyone force yo?Is it for fame or money you come to Islam etc?So there is no question of forced conversion.

However all Indian must understand it is a political gimmick by ruling party and some vested intrests who finds profit in defaming nother community people. They are slowly brainwashing the good hindus to hardcore hindus and attach social stigma status on muslims. But we dont care coz we know whatever Allah does is for good.Islam is the solution to mankind not a problem.

No one can convert by force anyone....people are understanding what is right and wrong...if someone understands what is Islam and its truthfulness...then he or she does not need anybodies force to convert...

Zakir Naik did not convert anyone forcefully...if you look at any of his speeches....

One new convert was asked to support jihad ...it is well known fact that women are being trapped to fall in love by giving money to jobless jihadists ...then they are made to join Isis ..same thing happened in Kerala ...yesterday we saw Pakistan flag flying over a jihadis house and last week PFI shouted anti India and pro Pakistan slogans and owaisi offered help to Isis members ...it proves this community wants serious escalation of violence.

Bengaluru, Jul 25: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said that the ministers of the BJP-led government in the state avoiding a judicial enquiry into the alleged corruption in procurement of medical essentials "is their height of arrogance".

In a series of tweets, Siddaramaiah said, "Why is the government afraid of judicial enquiry on corruption in procurement of medical essentials? If the ministers are so clean, what is holding them back from initiating investigation? This is their heights of arrogance!!"

He said that there should be a judicial enquiry by a sitting High Court Judge to let people know the facts.

"We will submit our documents and let the government submit their documents. If they are confident, why are they reluctant to initiate an investigation?" Siddaramaiah asked.

"Statment from the PMO says 50,000 ventilators are procured at a rate of Rs 4 lakhs per unit. Is this not true? Will Karnataka BJP ministers say that ventilators under PM CARES are sub-standard and lack quality?" he said.

"There will be both basic and premium models in everything. Even the PMO could have bought Rs. 18 lakh worth ventilator. Why did they buy a Rs 4 lakh worth ventilator? What is the justification from ministers for this?" he questioned.

Siddaramaiah asked that if the Medical Education Department sent a proposal worth Rs 815 crores which is not recomended by experts.
"It is true that Medical Education department has sent a proposal worth Rs 815 crores. It is also true that there is a note on the proposal which says that these are not recommended by experts. What is the significance of this note?" he tweeted.

The former Chief Minister said that if the state government is saying that if ventilators were procured during the tenure of Congress-JD(S) government, they must produce the proof.

"They are accusing us for the ventilators procured during the coalition government. I was not in the government then. If they have documents, let them investigate about that also. Let the truth be revealed," he said.

The Congress leader said that the opposition is not interested in playing politics during the time of COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are not interested in doing politics during COVID-19 pandemic, which is why we have not taken up many other pressing issues. But how can we be quiet when hundreds of people are succumbing due COVID-19 mismanagement?" he asked.

Karnataka on Friday reported 5,007 more COVID-19 cases and 110 deaths. The total number of cases in the state stands at 85,870, including 52,791 active cases and 1,724 fatalities, said the state government's bulletin.

With an aim to provide water to stray animals in Mangaluru, an animal activist announced a project 'Jal' under which free water bowls will be distributed to the people across the city.

Tauseef Ahmed believes many animals and birds do not find source to drink water which leads to death.
"Finding clean and safe drinking water has been a major issue in a lot of places. We humans when we face some scarcity we manage by taking the water out from the well," Ahmed told ANI.

"Unfortunately, that's not the case with when it comes to animals and birds. They do not find sources for water to drink so they eventually end up drinking sewage water and they fall sick. In some cases, even that is not available and due to dehydration, they die," he added.

Under the "Jal" project, Ahmed will distribute free water bowls to the people and expects them to make equal efforts in saving the lives of the animals.

"So, this project "Jal" will be providing 100 free water bowls all over Mangaluru. We are distributing it free of cost. All you have to do is keep the bowls outside in the garden or any places where animals frequently visit. Every day, we just have to fill the bowls with water for the animals. It will help a lot of animals to survive in the harsh weather of summers," Ahmed highlighted.

"We have used cement to make the bowls which will keep the eater really cool. We are spending close to 74 rs per bowl. We have made around 100 bowls and will continue making it. We are trying to cover as many animals as we can," he said.

February 3,2020

Bengaluru, Feb 3: A wave of dissatisfaction has hit the six-month-old BJP government against the backdrop of chief minister B S Yediyurappa's announcement to induct 13 aspirants in the second cabinet expansion on February 6.

In the first cabinet expansion, the chief minister had inducted 17 ministers on August 20, 2019.

Among the 13, ten will be those defectors from Congress and the JD(S) who were disqualified earlier and won the assembly by-election in December last year.

The rest will be the 'native BJP leaders', as deputy chief minister Govind Karjol put it.

Speculations are rife that Mahadevapura MLA Arvind Limbavali, Hukkeri MLA Umesh Katti and C P Yogeshwar, who had lost to H D Kumaraswamy from Channapatna assembly segment, would be inducted.

If Yogeshwar is included in the cabinet then he will bethe second minister after Deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi who had lost and yet made it to the cabinet.

The possible induction of Yogeshwar and Savadi, who was made deputy chief minister despite losing the assembly elections, are also a "reason" for discontent in the BJP.

Hectic activities began in the power corridor and MLAs started forming groups to impress upon the chief minister to include their members in the ministry.

While one group was from the "Kalyana Karnataka" region, the others were the defectors who will be excluded in the cabinet expansion.

A few MLAS from 'Kalyana Karnataka' region or erstwhile Hyderabad-Karnataka region comprising six districts, met at the Legislature Home and held a meeting.

The meeting was led by Shorapur MLA Narasimha Nayak akaRaju Gouda and Honnalli MLA M P Renukacharya.
The MLAs of the Kalyana Karnataka region were unanimous that their backward region should get representation in the cabinet.

Later, Gouda met the Chief Minister and requested that their region be given adequate representation in the cabinet, which is lacking development.

Talking to reporters, Gouda said, "We had given representations to all the MPs, MLAs and the chief minister. Today also we all had a meeting and later called on the Chief Minister requesting him to make any MLA from our region a minister."

He said any imbalance in cabinet expansion will cause trouble to the MLAs from Kalyana Karnataka region.

"If you make the defeated candidates ministers then include 120 people in the cabinet," an aggrieved Gouda taunted.

Renukacharya too echoed the same sentiments.

"If you give preference to the defeated candidates then what will happen to those who won the election? Where should the winners of election go? We emphasise upon giving preference to the winners."

On the other hand, the defectors who jumped the Congress and the JD(S) ship and helped form the BJP government too had a meeting in Bengaluru, said BJP sources.

They were unanimous that not only the 11 MLAs who won theelection be made ministers but also A H Vishwanath and M T BNagaraj who had unsuccessfully contested the assembly by- polls from Hunasuru and Hoskote on a BJP ticket.

Vishwanath, who was quite vocal on Sunday for dropping his name, was mellowed down on Monday after meeting Yediyurappa.

However, his insistence for getting a cabinet berth remained intact.

"I did not make any proposal before him and will not do it in future because he (Yediyurappa) knows what has to be done,"Vishwanath told reporters after meeting the chief minister.

When he was reminded of Yediyurappa's statement that therewere legal complications in making him a minister, Vishwanath said, "This government has legal experts and the advocate general. They will speak."

Amid speculations that Athani MLA Mahesh Kumathalli may not get a cabinet berth in the reshuffle, the defected MLAs led by Gokak BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, had a meeting to decide their future strategy, said party sources.

Currently, there are 18 ministers, including the chief minister, in the cabinet, which has a sanctioned strength of 34. Sixteen berths are vacant.

The cabinet expansion exercise will be a delicate task for Yediyurappa as he has to ensure adequate representation for various castes and regions.

The ministry already has eight Lingayats, including Yediyurappa; three Vokkaligas; a Brahmin; three SCs, two OBCs and one ST.

Opposition parties have been critical of the BJP and Yediyurappa over the delay in the cabinet expansion, alleging he is weak and his administration has collapsed.

Reacting to the cabinet expansion, former chief minister Siddaramaiah quipped, "A drama is taking place. Let it happen on February 6. Afterwards we will see what all happens."
