Bengaluru, Jul 13: In a further setback to the JDS-Congress coalition government in Karnataka, two independent MLAs- R Shankar and H Nagesh, who have withdrawn their support to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy led government, have requested the Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar to allot them seats in the opposition bench.
In separate letters written to the Speaker they stated that they had withdrawn their support to the coalition government and requested him to allot seats among the opposition benches.
Shankar and Nagesh were recently inducted into the State cabinet to bring down the crisis and bolster dwindling support to the government after 14 members of Coalition partners had resigned to their MLA post.
