Mangalore, May 24: A 27-year-old employee of Infosys in Mudipu died due to injuries sustained after he reportedly fell from the motorcycle he was driving on Friday morning. According to Konaje police, Nitin Kumar, a resident of Farangipet, was driving towards Infosys campus in Mudipu. He reportedly lost control of his vehicle while trying to avoid a dog that crossed the road near Lions Club’s office. He sustained an injury to the head and was moved to a private hospital nearby, where he succumbed in the evening.

Providing relief to the needy is the need of the hour. Responding to this humanitarian crisis, Dakshina Kannada Automobile & Tyre Dealers Association has contributed a sum of Rs. One Lakh towards Covid-19 relief.
Association President Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai along with Vice President Sri Harsha Kumar Kedige, Secretary Sri K. Vilas Kumar and Treasurer Sri Maroor Shashidhar Pai handed over two cheques for Rs. 50,000/- each favouring ‘PM Cares’ – the Prime Minister’s Covid-l9 Relief Fund and ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund Covid-l9’ of Karnataka respectively to Smt. Sindhu B. Rupesh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of D. K. District at her office in Mangalore on Monday, May 4, 2020.

6 poachers held by Forest officials

Belagavi, Jan 16: Six Poachers were arrested in two different cases at Gollahalli forest range in Kittur section in the district on Thursday.
The arrested were identified as Bharmesh alias Bharmappa Hanumant Bhajantri, Mallesh Hanumant Bhajantri residents of Budanakatti in Bailahongal Taluk.
Another alleged accused Yuvraj Basappa Bhajantri managed to escape.

Two held with illicit liquor in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, April 3: Central Crime Branch (CCB) Bengaluru has arrested two persons for allegedly possessing illicit liquor.
The probe team also allegedly seized bottles worth Rs 1.25 lakhs from their possession on Thursday.
A case has been registered against the accused and investigation into the matter is underway, Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police informed news agency.
