Aam Aadmi' inaugurates AAP district office in Mangalore

Mangalore, Feb 10: Sundar, a watchman of Souza Arcade inaugurated the new office premises of the Dakshina Kannada district unit of Aam Aadmi Party at Hampankatta in the city on Sunday.

According to a press release, the party will get a boost in its activities through streamlined functioning from its new premises which has been donated to the party by a well-wisher.

The active members of the party are growing in strength as preparations are afoot to actively participate in its maiden electoral process in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. The awareness brochures and pamphlets describing the objectives and achievements of the party was also released on the occasion.

Aam Aadmi Party has now set up ad-hoc working committees in all the eight assembly constituencies of the Mangalore Lok Sabha constituencies and working towards penetrating to the rural and interior parts of the district. The response from the people of the constituency has been very encouraging as the party plans to intensify its activities to achieve the objectives of eradicating corruption and providing quality governance.

Continuing its commitment to the society, the active members of the party donated 10 units of blood at the Fr. Muller's Hospital required for a live heart surgery.

The party has strongly condemned the incident of reported rape case of a small girl in the Bengra Area of the city on Saturday and demanded the police to nab the culprit and initiate stringent action. Such inhuman incidents cannot be tolerated in a civilised and literate society such as of our district.

Mangaluru, Mar 24: Seven people were arrested on Tuesday for violating prohibitory orders imposed under Section 144 of CrPC in Mangaluru during the lockdown in Karnataka, Commissioner of Police PS Harsha said.

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday had announced a complete lockdown in the state till April 1.
"In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the entire state will be locked down from 12 am of March 23 to April 1. People are requested to strictly follow it to contain the coronavirus spread," he said.
Earlier, the state government had ordered the suspending of all public and private transport services.
According to the data compiled by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of the infection-related death toll in the country rose to nine on Tuesday, while the total number of active cases reached 482.

Udupi, July 14: Due to rising COVID-19 cases in this district, Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh on Tuesday, announced that the border will be sealed down from July 15.

Speaking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said “Inter-district travelers will not be allowed to enter Udupi for 14 days from 8 pm on Wednesday, however, we won’t be imposing complete lockdown in the district.”

The decision was taken in the meeting held in his chamber in which Legislators Haladi Srinivas Shetty (Kundapur), Sunil Kumar (Karkala), Rghupathi Bhat (Udupi), Sukumar Shetty (Byndoor), among others were present.

Bengaluru, Apr 22: In order to infuse confidence among people to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Karnataka government on Wednesday launched a helpline 'Apthamitra' with an exclusive toll free number and a mobile app, aimed at providing required medical advice and guidance for those in need.

The help line and app was launched by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in the presence of senior Ministers and officials of the department.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Yediyurappa said that the help line was need at this crucial juncture. “If anyone has symptoms of Coronavirus, they can call the helpline from their home, get medical advice or assistance and get their doubts cleared. 

People who call to know the symptoms, an expert team of doctors will advice on what to do next.”
