March 1, 2017

Kolkata, Mar 1: West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday night arrested a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s women's wing, BJP Mahila Morcha, in connection with a recently busted child trafficking racket in north Bengal, officials said.

BengalAccording to reports, acting on inputs, a special team of CID booked BJP Mahila Morcha's state general secretary Juhee Chowdhury from Batasi area near India-Nepal border under Kharibari Police Station limits in West Bengal's Darjeeling district.

A senior CID official said that the BJP leader is being taken to Siliguri for further interrogation and she is likely to be produced before a local court on Wednesday.

Few days earlier, CID unearthed a north-Bengal based child trafficking racket in Jalpaiguri district and held three persons in connection with the case.

After starting probe into the matter, the CID charged BJP leader Juhee Chowdhury for her alleged role in aiding the child trafficking racket, which reportedly smuggled toddlers and newborns to other states in India and several other countries.

Since the racket was busted, Juhee Chowdhury went untraceable and finally arrested at around 10:45 pm. on Tuesday.

"Several others, including few doctors, are under our scanner in connection with the racket and they will be caught very soon if their links with the child smuggling racket are proven," a CID official said.

Any party or org, built on wrong, false, anti social values, then it will have all sorts of evil practices.
Its strength is illiterates in majority,

But it can never last for ever. It will have a saturation point, then the society can understand its false principles which are unhealthy to the society.

Bantwal, Jun 26: A day after expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response from students for the SSLC examinations, Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar on Friday took to Twitter to laud a student who didn’t let his physical hurdles deter him from writing the examination.

Sharing image of the student, Kaushik, who wrote the SSLC examination at Bantwal’s SVS High School, the Minister said that he was taken aback by the boy’s spirit for writing the exam independently without relying on anyone’s help. Such individuals give new meaning to life. Others should learn from this.

In the picture, Kaushik is seen seated on the floor and using his toes to write answers.

Kozhikode, Jun 9: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena T is all set to marry DYFI National President and CPM state committee member PA Muhammad Riyas on June 15. Interestingly, it's the second marriage for both.

Veena, the elder daughter of Pinarayi Vijayan and Kamala Vijayan, is an IT entrepreneur based in Bengaluru.

According to sources, the marriage will be a simple function in Thiruvananthapuram where only close relatives will participate. The marriage registration has already been done.

"It's only a private affair of two individuals," Riyas told media persons, reluctant to divulge more details.

The 44-year-old Muhammad Riyas started his political career with the Students Federation of India (SFI) and climbed up the rungs through DYFI. He had unsuccessfully contested against UDF's M K Raghavan from Kozhikode parliament constituency in 2009.

The son of retired IPS officer P M Abdul Khadar, Riyas is the familiar face of the left in primetime TV discussions, strongly articulating the CPM stance.

A law graduate, he had begun at the grassroots level and gradually worked his way up the ladder.

His marriage to Dr Sameeha Saithalavi, a former syndicate member of Calicut University, happened in 2002. The couple separated in 2015 and they have two sons aged 10 and 13.

The 40-plus Veena is MD of the IT firm Exalogic Solutions since 2014.

Prior to that, she was the CEO of RT Technosoft, a Thiruvananthapuram-based company owned by NRI industrialist Ravi Pillai. Before that, she had a six-year stint with Oracle. She has a son from her first marriage.

"They both were divorced for more than five years. They knew each other and the marriage decision was taken by them only. It's completely a private affair," said a DYFI leader.
