Abu Dhabi: EIFF organizes free medical check-up camp

Abu Dhabi: The Emirates India Fraternity Forum (EIFF), Abu Dhabi chapter, has conducted a free medical check-up programme on the occasion of 43rd UAE National day celebration on December 5 in co-ordination with Ittihad Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi.

Over one hundred people participated to take advantage of the camp. The drive was part of spreading greater awareness about the importance of health and environment.

Services such as blood pressure check-up, blood sugar check-up, HCV test (Hepatitis C Virus), prescribed medicines, laboratory tests and discounted dental services and body mass index check-up were offered.

A symposium highlighting the importance of health camps was addressed by Dr Viquar Azeem, MBBS (MD), Ittihad Medical Centre, who gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of medical camps, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of health benefits and congratulated the EIFF members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endowers.

Dr Misbah Azeem, MBBS (Medical Director) gave presentation about Healthy Living, he explained the Benefits of Physical Activity & healthy life style. Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health and it reduce our Risk of Cardiovascular Disease and risk of Diabetes Syndrome. It increases our chances of Living Longer. He pointed out that everyone can gain the health benefits of physical activity - age, ethnicity, shape or size do not matter.

Mr. Ashpaque Kundapura, Executive Member of Emirates India Fraternity Forum welcomed the gathering and briefed participants about the social service works carried by EIFF. He also expressed his gratitude, thanks and heartfelt appreciation for UAE Government, for giving all of us a safe and Healthy Environment to live. He also wished the rulers, nationals & all the people of UAE a happy National day. The event Co-Ordinator Mr. Ashraf Bailor coordinated the event while Mr. Iqbal Pandeshwara proposed vote of thanks.

EIFF executive members played a major role in conducting successful Program. The event was coordinated by the doctors and staff of Ittihad Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Chaiman Dr Sam Pitroda held video conference with senior IOC office bearers across Middle Eastern countries on 14th April 2020 to review the impact of COVID-19 pandemic among Indians residing in the region. Almost all speakers appreciated the efforts initiated and  implemented by  respective governments to contain spread of the deadly virus as well as measures taken towards welfare of the people affected by the lockdown. 

IOC Presidents, Mohammed Mansour - Bahrain, Abdullah Manjeri - Saudi Arabia, Dr J Ratan kunar - Oman and Girish kumar - Qatar, highlighted the quality treatment of patients and finacial aid provided by governments and other authorities. Bahrain IOC president Mansour , also  apprised about the 'Food for Needy' drive in Association with KHK Heroes foundation, initiated by HH Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and quality treatments as well as financial aid to local and expat residents.

Anura Mathai, IOC  Global Event Coordinator, spoke about certain problems of Indians in the UAE. IOC Middle East Convener, Mansoor Palloor, emphasised and requested IOC Chairman to urge Indian government to arrange immediate repatriation of indians stranded in Gulf countries. AICC Secretary, Himanshu Vyas, IOC Secretary Dr Arathi Krishna, Dr Arshi Malik (Abha), Mohiuddin Sirajudeen (Jeddah), Advocate Joseph Palathara (Dammam) Prasad Kodru, Jayati Maitra Ziyad Ahmed (Qatar) and Khursheed Alam (Gen Secretary- Bahrain) also apprised the participants about various issues relevant to the pandemic and suggested further initiatives to be undertaken. 

Dr Sam Pitroda briefed about sustained and consolidated efforts by all IOC members  during this unprecedented situation facing the world and assured that he would convey IOC  concerns to the government and try his best to ensure all possible help is made available to all needy Indians.
