Abu Dhabi: Saveen Hegde enthralls audience at a Seminar on “Creative Leadership”.

TM Saveen Hegde, who is a TEDx Speaker, Design Thinker, Improv Artist and one of the finalists at Toastmasters 2017, World Championship of Public Speaking, presented a seminar, “Creative Leadership” on Wednesday, February 21, at the India Social Centre, Abu Dhabi. Toastmasters Division H along with Literary Section of India Social Centre, Abu Dhabi, hosted the session.

Welcoming the gathering, Mr. Rajeevan Maroli, ISC Literary Secretary said, ISC is pleased to support such events that enrich all its members. Toastmasters Division H Director Mr. Althaf M.S reminisced the origin of Toastmasters in Abu Dhabi and the continuous support of Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty for Toastmasters in Abu Dhabi. Toastmaster District 105 Director Mr. Sunil Kottarathil spoke on the power of “Learning by Practicing” at Toastmasters.

The session was graced by Padmashree Dr. B.R Shetty, Vice Chairman / Grand Patron of Indian Social Centre and Patron of Toastmasters in Abu Dhabi. Speaking on the occasion he applauded Toastmaster Saveen Hegde for his enlightening session and also usage of simple words to convey his message. The founder member of Abu Dhabi Toastmasters Mr. Sarvotham Shetty appreciated Toastmaster activities in Abu Dhabi.

Toastmaster Saveen Hegde enthralled the audience with his simple but unique approach towards bringing in creativity in life. His slogan in life is ”Live, Laugh, Learn.” Speaking at the session he emphasized, “Knowledge is no longer a premium”. He said the next generation of leaders would come from a creative background. So, it is essential that we explore and pursue our passion and find our own creativity. He also highlighted how we all can overcome our fears step by step. According to him, life is full of amazing stories and he explained the four basic steps of creating a story.

In addition to Toastmasters and ISC members, the session was also attended by diverse nationalities from Abu Dhabi. ISC member and past Division H Director Mr. Alok Tuteja delivered the vote of thanks.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.
