Ajay Devgn Kicks Salman Khan And Akshay Kumar At Box Office

Ajay DevgnMumbai, Aug 16: Ajay Devgn starrer franchise Singham Returns has got a huge opening day due to independence day at the box office . As per early estimates the film should collect Rs 310 milion (Rs 31 crores) net at the indian box office .

The film opened well and the film also had a strong sixty percent occupancy . The film released India in around 3600 screens.The single screens collections were stronger than the multiplexes.

While Mumbai , Thane, Gujrat had very strong collections, the surprise box office collections came from north India.

Singham Returns may well emerge with the biggest opening day of the year beating the figures of Kick. In Mumbai it was always likely to be ahead of Kick as its a national holiday and the first Singham had huge appreciation in the circuit but North India is also putting up huge figures on the opening day which are similar to Kick.

As reported earlier by Businessofcinema.com, ‘Kick’ collected Rs 265 million (26.5 crore) nett on it’s opening day. While the second and the third day saw good growth by collecting Rs 270 million ( 27 crore) and Rs 310 million (31 crore)on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

While box office collections in the south was slow due to major local language releases. The Northern belt which could be have been low, has has registered huge collections crossing Salman Khan’s Kick in the northern belt and also Rohit Shetty’s previous film with Shahrukh Khan, Chennai Express.

Singham Returns has released on a holiday while the Salman Khan starrer Kick released pre Eid .The film is the highest opening collections amongst all Ajay Devgn films till date.

While saturday will decide the trend of teh film for now Ajay Devgn has managed to Kick Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar at the box office.

Mumbai, Jan 18: Actor Shabana Azmi was injured in an accident on Saturday afternoon on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Maharashtra's Raigad district, an official said.

The incident took place around 3.30 pm near Khalapur, over 60 km from Mumbai, when the car in which she was traveling rammed into a truck, said Raigad Superintendent of Police Anil Paraskar.

She was rushed to MGM hospital in Navi Mumbai and was undergoing treatment, he said.

Los Angeles, May 2: Pop diva Madonna has revealed that she has tested positive for the COVID-19 anitbodies.

The singer shared the news in the 14th edition of her “Quarantine Diary” on Instagram TV.

“Took a test the other day and I found out that I have the antibodies. So tomorrow I’m just going to go for a long drive in the car, and I’m gonna roll down the window and I’m gonna breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yup. I hope the sun is shining,” Madonna said.

According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), US, antibody tests are used to determine whether or not a person has been exposed to COVID-19 by finding proteins the body produces to fight the virus.

However, the CDC has yet to confirm if the possession of antibodies is equal to immunity.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday announced that Doordarshan will retelecast iconic show 'Ramayana' from Saturday on public demand.

"Happy to announce that on public demand, we are starting retelecast of 'Ramayana' from tomorrow in DD National. One episode in morning 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., another in the evening 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.," Javdekar tweeted.

'Ramayana' is an Indian historical-drama epic television series, which aired during 1987-1988, created, written, and directed by Ramanand Sagar.

The show was a television adaptation of the ancient Indian Hindu epic of the same name, and is primarily based on Valmiki's Ramayan and Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas.

DD National also said that on public demand, amid the 21-day lockdown, it will broadcast Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan from Saturday.
