Akshay Kumar says it would be‘great to be punched by Rajinikanth’

Mumbai, Feb 1: Actor Akshay Kumar, who will be seeing playing an antagonist to Rajinikanth in the sequel of Shankar’s Enthiran (Robot), 2.o, says he is excited about working with the Tamil superstar. The Singh is King actor will be seen exchanging punches with Rajinikanth on-screen. In the film, Rajinikanth will reprise his role of a scientist and his creation, Chitti-the robot and Akshay will play the villain.enthiran

“I feel like I am on top of the world. It’s alright getting kicked and punched. I have done that all my life. It is great to be punched by a superhero like Rajinikanth,” said Akshay.

“I am looking forward to play a negative role. It will be an honour,” he added.
The 48-year-old actor is playing a baddie but there are no specific preparations that he is required to do for the role. “I am not doing any preparations... No training as such yet. There is no training for it. I just have to condition my jaw that’s it,” Akshay said.

Remembering his first meeting with the south superstar, Akshay said, “There were 15 people waiting for him. Everyone was just looking at him. He was having a tea and there was some dust on his trousers, he cleaned it and everybody heaved a sigh of relief. I tried doing the same thing but no one looked at me.”

The Robot (Enthiran 2.0) directed by Shanmugam Shankar will have Amy Jackson as the female lead. Robot (2010) had Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa.

California, Jun 30: Online video-sharing platform YouTube on Monday banned several prominent channels, including those belonging to Stefan Molyneux and Richard Spencer.

The company banned six channels for repeatedly violating YouTube's policies.

According to The Verge, other channels banned include American Renaissance (with its associated channel AmRen Podcasts) and the channel for Spencer's National Policy Institute.

YouTube began taking stern measures on supremacist channels in June 2019.

"We have strict policies prohibiting hate speech on YouTube, and terminate any channel that repeatedly or egregiously violates those policies," the Verge quoted a YouTube spokesperson as saying.

"After updating our guidelines to better address supremacist content, we saw a 5x spike in video removals and have terminated over 25,000 channels for violating our hate speech policies," the spokesperson added.

Mumbai, Jul 6: Mumbai Police on Monday recorded the statement of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

The director arrived at Bandra Police Station on Monday morning to give his statement.

As per reports, late actor Sushant was approached by Bhansali for his 2013 film "Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela". However, Sushant could not take up the offer reportedly due to his contract with a production house. Later Ranveer Singh was signed for the role. The female lead was played by Deepika Padukone and the film turned out to be a commercial success.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has, over the past weeks, recorded statements of Sushant's family, staff, a few of his friends, and Rhea Chakraborty, besides filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra and actress Sanjana Sanghi who worked with the late actor in his upcoming last film "Dil Bechara".

Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his Mumbai residence on June 14. The actor's postmortem report stated his death was a suicide.

Within a few days of the actor's death, a complaint was filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. The case filed regarding the actor's death was against eight Bollywood personalities including Bhansali, Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra and Ekta Kapoor.

Mumbai Police is investigating the death of the actor, though many fans on social media have been demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case.

New Delhi, Aug 5: Playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam on Wednesday confirmed testing positive for COVID-19 with 'mild' symptoms.

The 74-year-old musician shared the information through a video message posted on his official Facebook page.

In the video, the singer detailed about having a little "discomfort" for two days, stating he had chest congestion along with cold and on-off fever, which led him to get tested for the virus.

However, he also mentioned that he could have stayed at home in self-quarantine, as advised, but did not want to put his family in danger, and hence got admitted by his own choice, to recover quickly.

"I am in good hand, I am in good health. Nobody has to worry about this. The fever has subsided, and in two days I'll be discharged and I'll be home. Thanks for the concern," he said in the video message.
