Al Falah Jubail bags DCA–AAMCO league championship trophy-2015

Dammam: Al Falah Jubail, emerged the DCA – AAMCO 15-over League Champions trophy after defeating Khobar United by 77 runs in the finals played on March 20, at DCA grounds. The tournament was sponsored by An Anwaar Modern Company (AAMCO), Al Khobar.

Khobar United won the toss and elected to field first. Al Falah openers Nisar and Haris scored 44 runs for the 1st wicket. Nisar lost his wicket when the score is 57. Then Tasleem joined Nainar and both smashed all bowlers of Khobar Untied. 107 runs came in their 3rd wicket partnership. Nainar hits 77 in 32 deliveries with 9 huge sixes, and Tasleem scored 37 with 4 sixes. At the end Al Falah able to make commendable total of 172/4 in allotted 15 over.

Nainar – 77 in 32 balls (9 sixes), Tasleem – 37 (4 sixes), Nisar – 30. Aslam and Fazal of Khobar United took two wickets each.

Chasing a target of 173 runs, Tawfeeq and Anees opened the innings. 26 runs came in 1st wicket partnership. After the fall of Taufeeq’s wicket, Veer joined Anees. They failed to build up a partnership as Anees lost his wicket when the score was 45. The team lost the wickets of Fayaz and Bilal in quick intervals. Middle order batsmen failed to score the runs against disciplined bowling and fielding by Al Falah. They were all-out for 95 runs. Al Falah defeated Khobar United by 77 runs.

Veer-18, Tawfeeq-12, Anees – 12, For Al Falah – Rameez and Sajid took three wickets each.

Nainar, of Al Falah judged the Man of the Match in the finals for his excellent batting performances.

Prior to this, first semi final was played between Al Falah and Pan Gulf. Pan Gulf scored 116 losing their all wickets in allotted 15 over. Al Falah chased the target with 8 wicket to spare. Second semi final was played between Khobar United and KCC Knight. KCC Knight made 101/6 and Khobar United reached the target with one over to spare.

At the closing ceremony, tournament sponsor Mohammed Hnaeef Patel lauded the efforts of DCA Committee members in organizing the tournaments which lasted for four months and attracted 40 teams.

Yunus Malik and Zia Malik of AAMCO, Raza from Khobar United, Abdulla of Al Falah, Raj Gopal Vice President DCA, Eithesham Treasurer DCA, Javed from JF, Mansour from KU, among others witnessed the finals.

DCA President Ashok Patel proposed vote of thanks. DCA 30th annual prize distribution ceremony will be held on Friday, 22nd May, 2015, at Crystal Hall, Dammam. All the winners/runners and award winning players will be invited.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.
