Bengaluru, Apr 5: Kannada superstar ‘Kichcha’ Sudeep, whose recent breakfast meeting with former chief minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy had triggered rumours of his possible entry to the regional party, the former on Thursday met incumbent chief minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah at his residence.
Sudeep invited Siddaramaiah for the inauguration of Kannada Chalanachitra Cup (KCC) cricket tournament to be held on Saturday.
It has been reported that Siddaramaiah requested Sudeep to campaign for Congress party in the upcoming state assembly elections.
The JD(S) is also making a desperate bid to woo actor Sudeep to join the party ahead of the Assembly elections. In last Monday’s breakfast meeting Kumaraswamy had reportedly discussed politics with Sudeep for nearly two hours. This was the actor's second such meeting with Kumaraswamy.
The actor belongs to the Nayaka Valmiki community, which has a significant presence in Davangere, Chitradurga, Ballari and Raichur.
