Anil Kapoor calls 'Ram Lakhan' remake a business deal

Anil-Kapoor New Delhi, Jun 28: Remember the mischevious 'Lakhan' Anil Kapoor played? The b-town actor won many hearts by his acting in the movie Ram Lakhan. Not only this, many consider Ram Lakhan as one of the biggest hits of Anil Kapoor's career.

But what can be surprise many iof the Anil Kapoor fans, the actor has called the remake of movie a 'bussiness deal'.

The iconic 1989 movie is set to be remade. As per the reports, Anil Kapoor in an interview with news channel said that Ram Lakhan remaking is more of business proposition. Kapoor was quoted saying " I think remaking ‘Ram Lakhan’ is more of business proposition than creative. But I think Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar will do their best."

He also said that there are certain directors who cast actors more for first look than their substance. When asked about who according to him should play his character the star said " I don’t know. I think it depends on filmmakers. There are certain filmmakers who are casting actors more for the excitement of first look than getting the perfect cast for a bigger picture.”

The movie will be made by Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty this time.

The 1989 Ram Lakhan had Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in lead roles with Dimple Kapadia, Madhuri Dixit (Nene), Anupam Kher and Amrish Puri.

Never aspired to become Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu: Rajinikanth

Chennai, Mar 12: Superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday clarified that he never aspired to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and said his plans for politics include different heads for his prospective party and a possible government headed by it.

In his first official press conference since December 31, 2017, when he announced to take the political plunge, the veteran star also said he planned to appoint as CM, an educated youth who was compassionate and had self-respect.

With a two-leadership system for party and the government, the former would act as an "opposition" to highlight issues and would not even hesitate to "remove", apparently the head of the government, if it fails to perform, he said.

His prospective party would focus on including a substantial amount of youngsters in the age group of below 45 years while the rest would comprise retired judges and IAS and IPS officials among others.

"I myself would reach out to them and invite them," to join him, the 69-year-old actor said.

Contrary to expectations, he however, did not make a concrete statement on floating his party but called for an "uprising" by youth, after which he would make his formal political entry.

Actor Rajinikanth defends Govt on CAA, says it won't affect Indian Muslims

Chennai, Feb 5: The popular cine actor Rajinikanth has defended the Union Government on the Citizenship Amendment Act, saying it will not affect the Indian Muslims.

In a brief interaction with reporters this morning in Chennai, the matinee idol said if the Muslims are affected by the CAA, he would be at the forefront in their defence. He asked how will the legislation affect the Indian Muslims when they chose to stay back in the country to make it their motherland. Mr Rajinikanth also supported the National Population Register saying it has been in force even in the past.

On the NRC, Mr Rajinikanth said the Government has already made it clear that its nationwide rollout has not been even discussed so far. Mr Rajinikanth is nourishing political ambitions and has made it clear that he would plunge into politics ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections in the state which is due in 2021.

Comedian Kunal Kamra challenges air travel ban in Delhi HC

New Delhi, Feb 25: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday gave time to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to seek instructions on travel ban imposed on comedian Kunal Kamra.

Kamra approached the court against IndiGo which suspended him from flying with the airlines for a period of six months. Other airlines had also followed the suit in pursuance to this.

Justice Naveen Chawla said that the regulatory body should not have certified actions of airlines other than IndiGo to ban Kamra without conducting inquiry. The matter will now be heard on February 27.

Last month, IndiGo had barred the stand-up comedian for six months from using its services for allegedly portraying "unacceptable behaviour" onboard its flight.

The airline claimed that Kamra, while travelling on a Mumbai-Lucknow IndiGo flight, provoked a TV news anchor by asking questions over his news presentation style.
