Another App-based cab service ‘bTag’ launched

Bengaluru, Aug 4: Commuters in Bengaluru will soon have another app to hail taxis as an association of drivers on Wednesday announced launching of their own app-based cab services called bTag in the coming days.

The taxis will operate in Bengaluru and Mysuru and offer services similar to Uber, Ola and new entrants like UTOO and Hi cabs. Another association of drivers, backed by JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, are also planning to launch their own app which has been tentatively named ‘HDK Cabs’.

Similar to apps launched by other drivers’ association, bTag promises flat fares which will not be affected during peak hours. “There are no hidden charges and surcharges,” they announced.

Tumakuru, Jun 20: An SSLC student of Siddaganga Mutt here was admitted to the isolation ward of the district hospital on Saturday after he showed Covid-19 symptoms.

Health officials said that the student, a native of the Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, had returned to the Mutt via Raichur on June 15 for writing the SSLC examination scheduled to begin on June 25.

After he was admitted to the hospital the Health Department Officials kept three of his roommates under quarantine. Throat swab sample of the student has also been sent for testing.

United Marine Products, Karnataka and Goa has been awarded the MPEDA (Marine Products Export Development Authority) best exporter award for outstanding export performance of 2017-18 and second best exporter of 2018-19 from the govt of India under the category   "Fishmeal, Fish oil and Allied products." held at Grand Hyatt, LuLu convention center, Kochi.
 
The award was conferred in the presence of Central Minister for state, commerce and Industry Mr Som Parkash and Honourable minister for fisheries, govt of Kerala Mercy kutty Amma. Mr Muhammad Sameer, Managing Partner, received the award.

Mangaluru: ‘Team B-Human’, a city based charity organisation, has donated Rs 1 lakh for the treatment of the a three-year-old child from Kinya on the outskirts of the city, who had sustained severe burn injuries.

According to the reports, a cleric at the Kodaje Badriya Juma Masjid, was living in hardship with his wife and two kids and had to recently avail loan to repair his house which was severely damaged due to storm.

To add to his woes, his three-year old son sustained 80% burn injuries after hot water fell on him accidentally. The child is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Derlakatte. The child’s brother is battling kidney related ailment.

A fundraising campaign was recently run on local social media platforms to help the cleric in sustaining in the hardship and to raise fund for the treatment of his son.

Taking note of the viral messages on social media, ‘Team B-Human’ came to the rescue of cleric and donated Rs 1 lakh.

‘Team B-Human’ has also arranged Rs. 70 thousand from its well-wishers which will also be deposited to cleric’s account soon. ‘Team B-Human’ in a release added that it will take care of Batish until he is discharged from the hospital post-treatment. 

Founder of ‘Team B-Human’, Asif Deals, members Basha, Althaf, Sadiq, Shameem and others were present when the cheque of Rs. one lakh was handed over to the cleric.
