Bengaluru, Apr 21: Karnataka’s Archana Kamath clinched the gold in the Cadet girls doubles section at the French Junior & Cadet Open Tournament, which concluded on Sunday at Metz.
Archana partnered Anezka Ilcikova of Czech Republic and the duo beat the third-seeded pair of Lucie Gauthier and Leili Mostafavi of France 10-12, 7-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-5 in the final to win the yellow metal.
The State paddler also won the bronze in the Cadet Girls Team event, along with Sophie Walloe of Denmark, after losing the semifinals to Ellen Holmsten and Christina Kallberg of Sweden 2-3.
In the Cadet Girls singles contest, Archana crashed out in the pre-quarterfinals, bowing out to Prithika Pavade of France 1-3.
Earlier in the first week of April, Archana had bagged a silver in the team event at the Belgium Open and in March, the world number 15 had pocketed two bronze medals (cadet singles and team) at the Italian Open.
