Tumakuru, Mar 20: An ASI was killed in a road accident right in front of a police out-post near Nelahal in Kora police station limits on Sunday.
Vishweshwaraiah, 51, who was working in Kyatsandra police station in Tumakuru city, was part of a highway patrolling team.
On Sunday evening, as he was about to step into the patrolling vehicle, a 10-wheel lorry laden with cement rammed the vehicle, crushing Mr. Vishweshwaraiah.
He died on the spot. The lorry driver fled from the accident site.
Bengaluru, Apr 6: Popular Kannada comedy actor Prakash, popularly known as Bullet Prakash in the film industry, died due to multi-organ failure at a private hospital in the City on Monday.
He was 44.
He is survived by wife, one son and a daughter.
Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.
Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.
Madikeri, Jul 24: Water from river Cauvery, which is deemed as holy, and mud from Kodagu, the birth district of river Cauvery was collected and will be sent to Ayodhya for use during groundbreaking (Bhoomi Pooja) ceremony for the construction of Ram Mandir on August 5.
Workers of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Hindu Jagarana Vedike collected the soil and water from River Cauvery at Talacauvery Kshetra, the birthplace of river Cauvery.
Special pooja was offered at Talacauvery, praying for the timely completion of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
