Asif Goodinabali elected President of Al- Qadisa Jubail

Jubail: The annual general body gathering of Al- Qadisa Jubail committee was held recently at Royal Malabar Auditorium, Al- Jubail in the noble presence of Moulana Dr. Muhammad Fazil Razwi, the founder and chief patron of Al- Qadisa Educational Academy, Kavalkatte.

Kavalkatte, a rural neighborhood in Bantwal Taluk gained prominence in the mind and activities of entire Muslim community of twin coastal districts in recent times due to illuminating spiritual presence of Dr. Mohammad FazilRazwi, fondly referred as ‘Hazrath’ by one and all. Al- Qadisa Educational Academy, an educational and residential campus for the poor, destitute and for knowledge seekers, founded by Dr. Mohammad Razwihas already created huge expectation for being unique and exemplary in every respect.

The promotion committee of Al- QadisaEducaitonal Academy in Jubail, Saudi Arabia has been a backbone and pillar of strength in the emergence of Al- Qadisa educational campus. For the past two years, the young, energetic and promising entrepreneur of Jubail Mr. NazeerPadubidre has been mantling the presidential responsibility of this committee in Jubail for the past two years.NazeerPadubidre’s exceptional leadership and philanthropic outlook came in to public eye in his term as president of Jubail Unit. The philanthropist and most popular Mangalorean personality in Saudi Arabia, Mr. ZakariyaMuzain has been the honorary president and patron this committee for the past two years.

The general body gathering was held on Friday, 24th February at Royal Malabar Auditorium in Jubail. Besides, Dr. Mohammad FazilRazwi, the presence of Moulana Abu Sufiyan Usthad, one of the most outstanding speaker and religious scholars of our time, added importance to the occasion. UsthadYousuf Saqafi Baithar, the president of Karnataka Cultural Foundation in Saudi Arabia inaugurated the function with an advice that committee members should accept the social responsibility given to them in the form of office bearers of this committee with pleasure considering it a divine injunction.

ZakariyaMuzain, the chief patron of this committee in Jubail spoke powerfully about the need for unity and oneness among the different organizations working for the same purpose. NazeerPadubidre, the outgoing president stressed the need for organizational change for creating future leaders. Janab Abdul Hameed Aramex and Anwar Hussain Goodinabaligave useful advice on the occasion. Kamarudeen Goodinabali welcomed the gathering. Rafeeq KH Surinje compered the program. Sheikh Balkunje read the report of previous committee. Mustafa Maina presented statement of account. Abdul GafoorSajipa proposed vote of thanks.

Janab Farook Karnere acted as election commissioner to elect the new committee. After consultation and discussion, Asif Goodinabali was unanimously elected as President of Al- QadisaJubail Unit. Mr.FayazPakshikere was nominated as General Secretary.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.
