Bearys Cultural Forum felicitates U T Khader, Thumbay Moideen at ‘Bearys Sports Festival’

Dubai, Feb 18: Bearys Cultural Forum, UAE conducted its 10th Anniversary Bearys Sports Festival 2014 at the Gulf Medical University with all types of fun and attraction.  No matter what sport you play, you are bound to a have good health.  It is an activity which provides a good physical fitness support to the whole body and personality.

The Sports event started in the morning with several tournaments such as cricket tournaments, foot ball tournament, volley ball tournament etc.  After the Friday Juma prayer, Janaza Prayer of Marhoom Ullala Thangal and the mother in law of Dr. Yusuf was held at the GMU Mosque after Juma Prayer.   Delicious lunch was served at the GMU Buffet area near to the Body and soul building.  At 4 pm we started with the Felicitation function for Hon. Mr. U.T. Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder Patron and Founder President of the Gulf Medical University.   Unfortunately, Hon. Mr. U.T. Khader and Hon. Mr. Thumbay Moideen could not attend this 10th Anniversary in view of urgent emergency  preoccupation.  However, the Gulf Medical University's representatives namely Dr. Mohd. Arifulla, Dean of Admission of the Gulf Medical University and Mr. Farhad Moideen, Director of Hospitality Division, Gulf Medical University attended this sports day felicitation function.  Dr. B. K. Yusuf, the President of the BCF also could not attend this function in view of the sad demise of his mother in law in Mangalore.  Mr. M.E. Moolur officiated as the President of the BCF for the 10th Anniversary of the BCF Sports Day.

There were delegates, actors, actress, directors etc. of Tulu Film namely "Niral" at the venue of the Gulf Medical University Ground to present the features of their film.

The Felicitation function was preceded by a wonderful Sports March Past by all the sportive people in a group comprising of the participants from various sports group.  This Sports March Past was witnessed by the above distinguished delegates.  The Sports  March Past was lead by Mr. Ibrahim Karnad.  After the March Past,  the members paid respect to the UAE by having a UAE National Anthem.

The Felicitation function started with Quran recitation which was done by Mr. Tanveer Razak.  Dr. Kaup compared the felicitation and prize distribution functions.  Duff was lead by the KCF group lead by Mr. Rahim Kodi after which Mr. M.B.Akbar played a prayer song for the audience.  Dr. Kaup Welcomed all the delegates and the audience.  Mr. Abdul Latif Mulky gave an introduction to the BCF.  Mr. M.B. Akbar read the message given by Dr. Yusuf.  Mr. M.E. Moolur delivered Presidential address.  Mr. U.T. Khader and Mr. Thumbay Moideen were awarded with the Award of Appreciation and Commemoration and the award was handed over to their concerned representatives.  A Financial award was also presented to Ustad Afeez Saadi to the upcoming best sports personality of Mangalore and Udupi Districts.  Mr. Saafi Saadi, Dr. Arifulla  and Mr. A.S. Puthege spoke on the occasion.

Dr. B.K. Yusuf unfortunately could not attend the Sports Day in view of the sad demise of his mother in law- in Mangalore.  However, Dr. Yusuf conveyed a message to all the people at the Sports day stating that he had full confidence in the Sports Committee and the Members of the BCF in view of which his absence will not be felt.    Dr. Yusuf conveyed his thank to Mr. Thumbay Moideen for his great support provided to the BCF for conducting this gala sports event.  He also congratulated Mr. Saleem Althaf and his group for their dedicated work in conducting this sports.  He also requested everybody to pray for the departed soul of his mother in law.

Mr. M.E. Moolur, the officiating President offered condolence for the departed souls of Syedna Ullala Thangal and the mother in law of Dr.BK Yusuf.   Mr. M.E. Moolur stated that that the values of humanity- Mutual love, brother hood and Unity are the basic principles of BCF.  He also thanked  BCF Sports Committee for their excellent job.

Dr. Mohd. Arifulla congratulated all the teams of various games  and said that he is very happy to see the people of Karnataka State.  He is very delighted to see the coordinated efforts of all the sports men.

Ustad Shaafi Sadi praised BCF for their selfless service to the society.  He emphasized on the value of social responsibility and cooperation and brotherhood. He wished every success to BCF.

Hon. Minister Mr. U.T. Khader delivered a speech to the audience through the voice call.   He said that he could not attend the Sports Program in UAE in view of some urgent work at Mangalore.  He also said that all the people should be together to make India a great Nation.   He also mentioned that he will visit UAE in another 10 days time to meet all the people of the Karnataka State.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Ameeruddin SI.

Raffle draw was won by Mrs.  Saman Sherif and Manal Kaup.

The Committee was extremely thankful to the Sports Committee comprising of Saleem Althaf (Chairman), Rafeeq Mulky, Razak Dewa, Gafoor, Nawaz Kotekar, Ibrahim Karnad, Ashraf Joikatte, Ashraf Sathikal, Kisar, Rehman Sajpa, Afeeq, Iqbal Mepha, Touseef, Ameerudin Medicari and Mrs. Mumtaz.  BCF also thanked all the ladies and gents wing members of the Managing committee for their relentless effort in making this sports event successful.  The BCF also thanked all the sponsors for providing us immense support for conducting this sports festival.  The BCF also thanked Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder Patron of BCF and the Founder President of GMU for providing their premises without which it was impossible for us to make this event successful.  BCF also thanked Mr. Farhad Moideen, Director of Hospitality Division, GMU, Mr. Hisham, Mr. Ayush, Mr. Imran, Mr. Salam and all the members of the GMU and Body and Soul for providing continuous hospitality and infrastructural services to the BCF in successful conducting this event.

In a humanitarian gesture to help fellow citizens in distress, the first in the series of chartered 
flights arranged by Thumbay Group, UAE and the Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) Trust, 
Mangalore to repatriate stranded Kannadigas in the UAE took off from Ras Al Khaimah 
International Airport in the wee hours of 21st July 2020. The flight was fully occupied, with 186 passengers, all of them desperate to fly back to India for various reasons.

The initiative was conceived and implemented under the leadership of Dr. Thumbay Moideen - Founder President of Thumbay Group & Founder Patron of BCF and Dr. B K Yusuf, the 
President of BCF. The flight was organized on a purely charitable basis, with all necessary 
steps and precautions in place to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers. Thumbay Group assigned its fleet of buses to transport the passengers free of charge from their residences in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman to the airport. The organizers also provided free meals and refreshments to the passengers, in addition to PPE kits and face-shields distributed free of 
charges.

The passengers on the first flight included many elderly individuals, people with serious 
illnesses like heart-related health issues and diabetes, pregnant ladies and little children as well as people who had lost their jobs and those with expired visas. Dr. B K Yusuf – BCF President, Dr. Kaup Mohammed - BCF General Secretary, other office bearers of BCF, as well as Thumbay Group’s representatives Mr. Farhad C – Director of the Hospitality Division of 
Thumbay Group and Engr. Farwaz P. C. – COO of the Construction Division were present at 
the airport to see off the first group of passengers.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Thumbay Moideen said, “This joint initiative of Thumbay 
Group and BCF is to support our fellow Kannadigas desperate to fly back home. We are happy that we have been able to reach out to many of them, to help them fly home to their families. We thank the Governments of the UAE and India, and the Indian Consulate, Dubai, for their support in making this happen. In the coming days, many more stranded Kannadigas would be repatriated under this joint initiative.”
Dr. B K Yusuf thanked Dr. Thumbay Moideen and the office-bearers and members of BCF for 
their efforts to make the initiative a success.

“We are proud that this initiative has brought relief to many Kannadigas and their families today. BCF is grateful to Thumbay Group for its support and partnership for all our humanitarian programs for the support of the needy.”

Dr. Kaup Mohammed said that it was a matter of pride that the much-awaited Thumbay-BCF 
repatriation flight had been carried out successfully. “Measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the flight and its passengers throughout the journey,” he said. He also thanked all the social organizations including Bhatkal Jamath, BCCI, BWF, KCF, DKSC, Kodagu Kannadigas, 
Kannadiga Help Line, Dubai Konkans and KSS, for their support. He specially thanked Mr. 
Syed Hassan Razeen, the owner of ARISTOCRAT Travels for his support in the ticketing, 
boarding and related processes. On behalf of Milano Optics Group and Maxcare, free gift 
hampers were distributed to selected passengers.

The passengers were received at Mangalore airport under the leadership of Mr. Mumtaz Ali - patron of BCF and other distinguished personalities of Mangalore including Mr. Moidin Bava - former MLA, Mr U. T. Ifthikhar, Mr. S. M. R Rashid - President of BCCI central committee and many others. The passengers were transferred to the hotels where they had registered for the mandatory quarantine.

The second flight under this joint initiative is scheduled to take-off from Ras Al Khaimah airport to Mangalore on 24th July 2020. A few more similar repatriation flights are to soon follow, in the coming weeks.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.
