Bengaluru, Jun 27: Realtor HK Ganesh, who allegedly shot dead his wife before attempting to kill two of their three children last week, has told police that he and his spouse decided to use a firearm to execute their suicide pact after reading about a top Mumbai police officer ending his life using his service revolver last month.

During questioning, Ganesh told cops that he and his wife decided to take the extreme step over financial issues and examined various options to execute it.

“After going through different ways of committing suicide, we decided to either hang ourselves or consume poison. But Sahana lost her nerve saying she cannot feed poison to her children nor can she put them to noose. While contemplating other ideas, we read the news about the Mumbai police officer shooting himself dead,” Ganesh told his investigators. On May 11, Himanshu Roy, 55, additional director general of police (establishment), allegedly shot himself with his licensed revolver at his home in Mumbai’s Nariman Point.

“Finally, we decided to shoot ourselves dead. It was Sahana’s decision that I should kill her first and then the children before killing myself,” Ganesh claimed.

A resident of Jayanagar 4th Block, Ganesh, 49, shot his wife Sahana G, 42, dead in their residence on June 21. Later, he took his three children, including an adopted girl child, to his farmhouse in Nettigere village of Kanakapura taluk.

Though Ganesh pulled trigger on the children, he missed aim and two of the children sustained injures. Ganesh was arrested while shifting the kids to hospital. The kids are out of danger.

Mumbai, May 27: "Crime Patrol" actress Preksha Mehta has committed suicide. She was 25.

Preksha took her life by hanging from a ceiling fan on Monday night at her residence in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, reports timesofindia.com.

The actress reportedly left a suicide note but it does not mention why she decided to end her life. As per reports, Preksha went into depression due to lack of work amid the lockdown.

Her last few social media posts hint at mental agony she was going through. In her last Instagram story, Preksha wrote: "Sabse bura hota hai sapno ka mar jaana" (the worst thing is the death of your dreams)."

Apart from "Crime Patrol", Preksha has appeared in TV soaps like "Meri Durga" and "Laal Ishq".

This is the second suicide by a TV actor during the ongoing lockdown, when all shooting activity has come to a halt for two months now. A few days ago, actor Manmeet Grewal took his life by hanging from the ceiling fan at his Mumbai home. Reportedly, the actor was in a financial crisis and had run into huge debts.
