December 24, 2014

Bengaluru, Dec 24: A 20-year-old student from a noted women's college in Bengaluru started receiving calls from strangers on her mobile phone seeking sexual gratification. After initially ignoring the calls as pranks, she was shocked when an anonymous person sent her nude image on her phone through a messaging application called WhatsApp. It did not take her much time to realise that her nude images and videos were being circulated on Indian porn websites.girl looking at fb

The girl's family approached the police after learning of the events. Within a day, the police found out that the source of the nude images was the girl's jilted lover with whom she had separated recently. Apparently, he had clicked her pictures and video without her knowledge at her residence while she was changing clothes and had threatened the family that he would defame the girl shortly.

The accused is now behind the bars while the victim has sought the help of the cyber police to get her pictures and video deleted from the porn sites.

According to the police, the girl met the 24-year-old accused on Facebook two years ago. Their friendship soon turned into a relationship but the victim's parents were particular that their daughter should marry someone from the same community. The accused, who identified himself as an IT professional from an MNC and belonged to a different community, allegedly lied to them.

However, the victim decided to part ways with the accused after he told her about his identity in September. Angry at being spurned by his lover and her family, the accused uploaded the obscene content on porn sites. He had also mentioned the contact number of the victim on the sites.

"When the girl's parents did not agree to the marriage, he threatened the girl's family that he would make public the nude images and video. But they had not taken his threat seriously," the police said.

"He has confessed to have uploaded the girl's nude pictures / video of the girl out of anger. We have also recovered a pen drive in which he had stored the images /video," the police added.
