Big B tweets first video response to fan

Mumbai, Oct 11: Celebrities can have their own ways to flatter their fans! And Big B did just that when he tweeted his first video response to one of the fans who sent out birthday wishes to the megastar on the social networking platform.

Big B"Congratulations," tweeted Big B along with a video link to the winner, whose Twitter handle is rishi_nm.

In the personalised video message, the 71-year-old says: "Rishi, as you know you came on Twitter and wished me for my birthday on Oct 11, I am keeping up my promise of sending a video to you. You've been randomly picked from the computer and I want to thank you for giving me your warm wishes and your love and affection.

"We hope that we can live up to your expectations in the work that we do. And we hope you keep coming to this platform and being a part of my extended family."

This is a unique way that the celebrity is connecting with his fans using video on Twitter ahead of his 72nd birthday. It is his way of "reciprocating the love" of his audience.

The idea is that Big B, in association with micro-blogging platform Twitter and celebrity digital media network Fluence, will respond to all his fans that follow him on Twitter handle @SrBachchan, and tweet and send him birthday wishes with the hashtag #AB72Wishes starting Wednesday.

These lucky fans will receive a digitally signed, specially autographed poster by Amitabh, and one of the fans will also receive a specially recorded personal video message by the Big B.

When Anupam felt 'pure joy'

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, whose "Ekkees Topon Ki Salami" released Friday, says the experience of shooting the movie brought joy to his life. He hopes it gets a good response.

"#EkkeesToponKiSalami releases today. Good luck to the entire cast and crew. It has been pure joy to be part of this amazing film," Anupam tweeted Friday.

Urging the audience to watch the movie, he added: "Watch #EkkeesToponKiSalami for its theme. Watch it if you are a father or a son. Watch if you are Common Man. Watch it & SALUTE yourself."

Directed by Ravindra Gautam, the movie also stars Neha Dhupia, Manu Rishi, Divyendu Sharma.

Mumbai, Aug 7: Bhojpuri actress Anupama Pathak has died allegedly by suicide in Dahisar East, her Mumbai residence on August 2.

The police have recovered a suicide note.

Initially, an accidental death case was registered which was later converted into FIR under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC against a person and a company, the police said.

Further investigation by Mumbai's Kashimira Police is underway.

Mumbai, Jul 12: Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek have tested positive for Covid-19, according to separate tweets by the two. The 'Sholay' actor shared the news about his positive status on his Twitter handle on Saturday and said he has been admitted to Nanavati hospital here where he is being kept in an isolation ward.

Shortly afterwards, Abhishek Bachchan also confirmed the news and revealed that he and his father both had "mild symptoms."
The Big B said he has been shifted to hospital, and the other family members and staff have undergone tests for the virus. However, the results are awaited.

The 77-year-old actor also requested those, who have been in "close proximity" to him in the last 10 days to get tested for COVID-19.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan among others wished the "iconic star" a quick recovery to the 'Gulabo Sitabo' star.

"Dear Amitabh ji, I join the whole Nation in wishing you a quick recovery! After all, you are the idol of millions in this country, an iconic superstar! We will all take good care of you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! @SrBachchan @juniorbachchan#AmitabhBachchan #COVID," Health Minister tweeted quoting Amitabh Bacchan's tweet.

Abhishek Bachchan too tweeted shortly afterwards. "Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you."

Former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis wished the senior Bachchan a speedy recovery.
A slew of filmstars and celebrities including Kailash Kher Sonam Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Paresh Rawal, Pariniti Chopra Adnan Sami, Mahesh Babu etc were among those who wished the Bachchans a speedy recovery.

Mumbai, reported a total positive COVID-19 cases of 91457 with 22,779 active COVID-19 cases, with 5,241 people succumbing to the deadly infection so far, according to the Municipal Coroporation of Greater Mumbai.

Mumbai, Mar 7: A 'farm-to-fork' themed restaurant 'He-Man' situated on National Highway in Haryana's Karnal -- franchised by veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra -- has been sealed for building law violations, officials said on Saturday.

The Karnal Municipal Corporation sealed the franchise outlet on Friday for not furnishing the change of land use (CLU) certificate and illegal constructions, an official said.

The restaurant is located on National Highway 44 on the outskirts of Karnal, some 150 km from here.

The franchise was given to Delhi-based businessman Pramod Kumar.

"After the success of my restaurant Garam Dharam Dhaba, I am now announcing a farm-to- fork themed restaurant 'He-Man'," Dharmendra had announced on Instagram after its launch on Valentine's Day.

Karnal Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav said the action was initiated as the restaurant owner did not respond to MC notice on the issue.
