Mumbai, Feb 15: A 43-year-old businessman travelling on an Indigo flight from Kolkata to Mumbai was arrested by the airport police for allegedly watching porn in front of an air hostess twice. The air hostess as well as her woman supervisor caught him and complained of obscenity in a public place.

BizmanAccording to the airport police, the incident took place at 10pm on Saturday when the accused, who runs a small business of selling marble and granite, was travelling on a 8.20pm flight from Kolkata, which was to land in Mumbai at 11pm.

The accused was travelling in the economy class and the passengers sitting next to him were asleep. He first asked a 26-year-old woman crew member to bring him water, the police said.

When she returned, she saw he was still watching porn on the mobile phone with the screen turned towards her, the police said. She ascertained he was deliberately showing it to her, the police said. She alerted her woman supervisor, who went up to him and allegedly also saw him watching the clips.

The supervisor alerted the pilot after which their Delhi office was informed, the police said. Their internal security detained him and alerted the airport police, which comes under the Mumbai police. The accused deleted all the videos before he was formally arrested because of which the police have charged him with evidence tampering.

The 26-year-old woman lodged an FIR on Sunday under section 354 A (3) (showing pornography against the will of a woman), 294 (obscene act in public place) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence) of the IPC.

The accused told the police he did not commit the crime on purpose. The cops have seized his mobile phone and have sent it to the FSL to retrieve the clips. He was arrested and produced before a magistrate court that sent him to judicial custody.

Shillong, May 9: The poisonous mushrooms that killed six people at a remote village in Meghalaya's West Jaintia Hills district have been identified as Amanita phalloides, commonly known as the 'Death Cap', a senior official said on Saturday.

Six people, including a 14-year-old girl, of Lamin village along the India-Bangladesh border in Amlarem civil sub-division died after consuming wild mushrooms they collected from a nearby forest late last month.

The wild mushroom has been identified as Amanita phalloides and is hepatotoxic as it directly affects the liver, state Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War told PTI.

He said it has been established after an investigation that the cause of the deaths was the poisonous mushrooms.

At least 18 persons from three families were taken ill after consuming the mushrooms.

The symptoms after consuming the poisonous fungus include vomiting, headache and unconsciousness, the senior doctor said.

Most of those taken ill, including a pregnant woman, have already recovered and gone home. Therefore, people can survive as it depends on the amount of poison that you have consumed. Only one person was unaffected, maybe he did not consume much, he said.

Three people are still undergoing treatment and are recovering. Two of them are at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) and one in Woodland Hospital, Dr War said.

He said the health department can only appeal to the people, especially those in the rural areas, to refrain from eating wild mushrooms, while the horticulture department should take measures to create awareness.
