Mumbai, June 22: Hours before her return to India in connection with her legal complaint against ex beau Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta has been cornered as an eye witness defended the business tycoon. The Bollywood actress is expected to reach India on Sunday, June 22.

One eyewitness, who has been identified as industrialist Sharat Nath, claimed that he was present at same place where Preity and Wadia were present on May 30 during an IPL match between Punjab and Chennai at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium.

Preity Zinta caseNath, during his interrogation, was quoted as saying, "Yes, I was present and I was standing around 10-12 rows behind Preity. She was in the very first line. I saw Wadia coming and his family members were with him. He went upto Preity and had a discussion but it wasn't a heated argument. Then he came back and took his family member to the air conditioned section. I just said hello to him as I don't know him that closely. I just know Wadia socially."

One media report quoted him as saying, "I saw Preity through out the match. I did not see them both going together somewhere. Whatever I saw there didn't ring any alarm bell. I didn't notice him touch her. He just walked away. From body language it looked like two people talking to each other."

The industrialist, who informed that he did not have any contact with Wadia since May 30, also claimed that later on that same day he found Wadia in a jovial mood.

Nath's statement might be a major setback for the Bollywood actress who filed a legal case against Wadia saying that Wadia had grabbed her hand and abused her during the match on May 30.

Meanwhile, many media reports claimed that cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's teenage son Arjun too was present at the same place and was abused by Wadia while the kid had apparently asked him not to disturb them by his altercation with Preity.

Preity-Wadia case has taken a serious turn when the Wadia Group filed complaint saying underworld don has been threatening them on behalf of the actress. The duo, who were in a romantic relationship for five years, broke up but continue to co-own IPL team -- Kings XI Punjab.

The 74-year-old musician shared the information through a video message posted on his official Facebook page.

In the video, the singer detailed about having a little "discomfort" for two days, stating he had chest congestion along with cold and on-off fever, which led him to get tested for the virus.

However, he also mentioned that he could have stayed at home in self-quarantine, as advised, but did not want to put his family in danger, and hence got admitted by his own choice, to recover quickly.

"I am in good hand, I am in good health. Nobody has to worry about this. The fever has subsided, and in two days I'll be discharged and I'll be home. Thanks for the concern," he said in the video message.
