June 23, 2015

Mumbai, Jun 23: Priyanka Chopra plays Alex in ABC new show Quantico which premieres this fall. She is the husky voice featured in the promo that aired during the NBA final. Priyanka signed a talent deal with ABC. This television role is the first shot across our North American bows by the far East giants of Bollywood. It will be interesting to see how it plays out with Priyanka. Seeing such a famous Bollywood star on American TV is reason enough to give the series a chance to succeed. It will, at least, draw a lot of curiosity.

Priyanka-ChopraQuantico is about a group of recruits who have joined the FBI and have gone through the strict training. According to The Christian Post, there will be a lot of attention paid to the back story of all the characters via flashback. This being a melodrama, one of the bunch will be a sleeper placed by a foreign government. Quantico's cast includes Aunjanue Ellis, Dougray Scott and Tate Ellington.

Jake McLaughlin is the male lead and romantic interest for Priyanka Chopra character Alex Parish. Television writer/producer Joshua Safran, best known for Gossip Girl, is the show's creator and executive producer.

Priyanka Chopra is one of a rich assortment of very busy Indian actresses. She has kept busy doing films in India while shooting Quantico. In an interview with GlamSham, Chopra said she is getting a little tired but says that mentally she is ready to go.

Hollywood has not made much use of anyone from the Indian film community, so everyone is hopeful that Priyaka's shot on American TV is a successful one. The multi-talented Priyankà Chopra is a very good bet for North American success, as the former Miss World 2000 has had a lot of success in several fields: she is a former beauty queen, a successful singer, an activist for children's and female rights and one of the most popular actresses in the world's biggest film communities, Bollywood. Her most famous films include Don, Fashion and Krrish3.

Quantico debuts after another new series Blood and Oil on Sunday September 27.

Los Angeles, Mar 6: Filmmaker-writer Taika Waititi is set to direct two animated series based on Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" for Netflix.

Waititi, who won an Academy Award in February for his adapted screenplay, "Jojo Rabbit", will also serve as the writer and producer on the animated series.

According to Deadline, the first series will be based on the world of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", while the second will be an original take on the Oompa-Loompa characters from the book.

The Oompa-Loompas are little humans who were preyed upon in Loompaland before Wonka invited them to work at his chocolate factory. They are paid in cocoa beans and love practical jokes and singing songs.

Netflix said the animation series would "retain the quintessential spirit and tone of the original story while building out the world and characters far beyond the pages of the Dahl book for the very first time."

The series will follow in the footsteps of Gene Wilder's 1971 portrayal of Willy Wonka and Johnny Depp's 2005 interpretation.
