Mangalore, Jan 1: The district unit of Popular Front of India has filed a defamation case against a city based eveninger for allegedly publishing a “malicious report” about the organisation.
In a press release, District President of PFI Nazeer M H said that the PFI filed case against B V Seetharam, Editor-in-Chief of Mangalore based eveninger, Satheesh Vaidya, Editor, Rohini Seetharam, Owner of Chitra Publications, PMA Beary and Siddeeq Kumbra Puttur, reporters of the eveninger.
Mr Nazeer said that, on November 16 the eveninger had published that PFI received financial aid from Sangh Parivar to bring large number of people to its convention. The report went on to claim that PFI leaders had held a secret meeting with their Sangh Parivar counterparts to achieve mutual interest.
Several thousand people from different parts of the coastal Karnataka had taken part in the convention held on November 2 as part of PFI’s nationwide campaign “Why Popular Front”.
On November 17 too, the eveninger published that the leaders of PFI purchased lands at various places collecting money from the people. “They aimed at tarnishing the image of our responsible organization,” he said.
