Advocate Shirtady William Pinto gets IFKCA award

Udupi, Mar 2: Three eminent personalities from the region were conferred with IFKCA awards, instituted by the Udupi branch of International Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations, for the year 2012 here on Thursday.
Advocate Shirtady William Pinto received the ‘IFKCA Samaj Ratna Award’, R.L. Dias, president of Udupi Railway Yatri Sangha, and Sunil John D’Souza, president of Divine Generation Ministries Bethel Church Trust, which runs Vishwasada Mane for the homeless at Shankarpura, received the ‘IFKCA Special Awards’.
Mr. Pinto was chosen for promoting legal awareness by writing books on legal issues. Mr. Dias had fought on behalf of the train commuters and getting various trains on the Konkan Railway to stop in Udupi. He also played a role in getting the Bangalore-Mangalore train extended to Karwar. Mr. D’Souza had brought many homeless persons wandering on the streets to Vishwasada Mane, where they were treated and later reunited with their families. J.S. Sadananda, Bishop of Karnataka Southern Diocese of Church of South India, called upon Christians to join mainstream of society. It was necessary serve society by overcoming the barriers of religion and caste, he said.
Louis Lobo, president of Udupi branch of IFKCA, welcomed the gathering.

Madikeri, Jul 24: Water from river Cauvery, which is deemed as holy, and mud from Kodagu, the birth district of river Cauvery was collected and will be sent to Ayodhya for use during groundbreaking (Bhoomi Pooja) ceremony for the construction of Ram Mandir on August 5.

Workers of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Hindu Jagarana Vedike collected the soil and water from River Cauvery at Talacauvery Kshetra, the birthplace of river Cauvery.

Special pooja was offered at Talacauvery, praying for the timely completion of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Tumakuru, Jun 20: An SSLC student of Siddaganga Mutt here was admitted to the isolation ward of the district hospital on Saturday after he showed Covid-19 symptoms.

Health officials said that the student, a native of the Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, had returned to the Mutt via Raichur on June 15 for writing the SSLC examination scheduled to begin on June 25.

After he was admitted to the hospital the Health Department Officials kept three of his roommates under quarantine. Throat swab sample of the student has also been sent for testing.

Mangaluru, May. 21: The Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI Mangaluru) is held the Eid Kits distribution program on Wednesday, 27th day of Ramadan (20.05.2020) at BCCI office in Kankanady, Mangaluru. 

It distributed around 250 kits including some cash amount to the needy

BCCI president Mr S. M. Rasheed Haji, vice president Mr. Abdul Rauf Puthige, Administrative Secretary Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed, and Executive Members  Mr. Mumtaz Ali B.M., 
Mr. Mohammad Haris,
Mr. Mohammad Sharief, Mr.  Asif Soofikhan were present.
