February 6, 2015

Hyderabad, Feb 6: Women's rights activist Sunitha Krishnan shared a video on YouTube yesterday showing five rapists posing for camera while raping a woman mercilessly.

Rapists

The rapists posed for a picture with a smile on their face before they took turns to rape the woman.

Sunitha, who runs an NGO in Hyderabad, discovered this video on WhatsApp after an acquaintance informed her about it.

The video was being circulated on WhatsApp and is believed to be six months old.

In order to keep the identity of the rape victim confidential, Sunitha asked her husband, who is a filmmaker, to edit the video and focus solely on the rapists.

Sunitha Krishnan herself was gang-raped by eight men when she was just 15 years old.

Krishnan told, "Ten seconds into the video, I was overcome. I had to stop as I needed to throw up."

The women's rights activist voiced that no one comes forward to help trace the culprits and get them punished.

Krishnan uploaded the video of the rapists on YouTube to initiate a national campaign for shaming the rapists and to get justice for the rape victim.

The activist posted on her Facebook page, "If you know of anybody who has received any such videos, inform me at [email protected]."

Soon after Krishnan announced her campaign on NDTV, some miscreants pelted stones at her car.

In order to get justice for the victim, Sunitha Krishnan is looking forward to meet Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare Maneka Gandhi and other officials in the Union Home Ministry.
