Kasaragod, Apr 13: Appaya Naik, a 65-year-old coconut tree climber, was killed near Badiadka on Thursday when a coconut tree got uprooted while he was climbing it.
The incident occurred around 9.30 a.m. when he was plucking coconuts at a plot at Panchathadka.
Though he was rushed to a local hospital and from there to the General Hospital here, his life could not be saved, police sources said. He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
Bengaluru, Apr 6: Popular Kannada comedy actor Prakash, popularly known as Bullet Prakash in the film industry, died due to multi-organ failure at a private hospital in the City on Monday.
He was 44.

Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.
Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.
Kalaburagi, Jul 2: Hoteliers in Kalaburagi have claimed that their business is hit due to night curfew timings in the state.
The night curfew in the state has been imposed from 8 pm to 5 am.
Speaking to news agency, Sudarshan, a hotelier said, "Peak business hour is 7-10 pm but now we close by 8 pm. There is almost no business. We are unable to pay our workers. The government should think about it".
"We haven't received any benefit from the government so far. If we are in trouble how will we help our workers? Relaxation should be given," he added.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka government on Tuesday announced a complete lockdown on Sundays till August 2.
So far, Karnataka has reported 15,242 COVID-19 cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
