In a serious allegation, BJP leader and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje claimed in Lok Sabha that coastal regions of Karnataka and Kerala have become a hotbed of ‘jihadi activities’ and raised the issue of killings of so called Hindutva activists in Karnataka.

Raising the issue during zero hour, Shobha said ‘20 Hindu activists’ of the RSS and BJP had been killed in Karnataka. “Coastal Karnataka and coastal Kerala have become a hotbed of jihadi activities.  International terrorist Yasin Bhatkal and several of his accomplices have been arrested from coastal region of Kerala and Karnataka. Now, the jihadi forces are killing Hindu activists in large numbers," she told the House.

She also had a brief exchange of words with some CPI (M) members. Shobha referred to the arrest of Popular Front of India activists in connection with the murder of RSS worker Rudresh. She also blamed PFI and SDPI for the death of young fisherman Paresh Mesta at Honnavar in Uttara Kannada district.

She also demanded a National Investigation Agency enquiry into the killings of Hindutva workers in Karnataka during Congress rule.

Does people select this waste Shoba only for lying and spitting venum of hate.  Its shame that people elected such a lady who is a agent of sangh parivar and taking care of creating disturbance and riot in coastal karnataka.   Coastal karnataka is not a hub for jihadis as no jihadi is there but hub for sanghi terrorists who are financed by nagpur based terror group and supported by people like kalla bhatta.   She should be deprived of her seat and HC should strip her of this position as she is not representing people but representing sangh parivar goondas.   She is the main person behind riots and property loss in uttar Kannada dist.  HC should order for confiscating her property worth crores of rupees int he form of estates/ bungalows/ shopping arcades etc etc.  and distribute among the poeple who lost their homes + businesses.

The centre was inaugurated by Dr. Ranjan B. Kini, Professor of Management - Information Systems of Indiana University Northwest (UCN), USA on Saturday, January 11, 2020.

The centre will provide exposure to rural high school students in technical skills in emerging technological domains, soft skills and life skills through online training and video conferencing during weekend seminars. The centre is established by Keithan and Keisha with the help of their parents. They are the children of Katapady Krishna Mohan Pai, CEO of Invenger Technologies Inc., USA. The training will include international online programmes and video conferencing.

“In today’s competitive world, students need technical knowledge to keep pace with the changing scenarios. Kini after inaugurating the first unit at SVS English Medium School, Katapady.

Dr. Srikanth Prabhu informed the gathering about the idea behind the project, explained its features and programmes. “If good awareness is given to students at a young age regarding latest developments in technical fields and if they are trained in soft skills and other complementary skills, they will be able to face the future with confidence and attain the heights of success even if beginning from zero,” he said.

Presiding over the function K. Sathyendra Pai, Director of Invenger Technologies said, “This is the first centre to be set up under our initiative to train rural children in add-on skills and help them to gain parity with better educated students.”  More such centres will be set up in other schools soon, he added.

Bengaluru, Jun 7: Suspense over JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda contesting the Rajya Sabha polls from Karnataka with Congress' support continues as KPCC president D K Shivakumar on Saturday said the party has fielded one candidate and the high command will decide on what do with surplus votes.

Mr Shivakumar also said his official takeover as party state unit president is likely to take place on June 14.

"Whatever our national leadership will decide... For now we are fielding only one candidate, regarding surplus votes whatever our high command says, we will abide by it," he said in response to a question about supporting Deve Gowda.

Polls for four Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka is scheduled for June 19.

The Congress, which can win one seat with its strength in the assembly, has fielded veteran party leader Mallikarjun Kharge as the candidate, while the BJP is yet to decide on candidates for two seats it can win.

The JD(S), which has 34 seats in the assembly, is not in a position to win a seat in Rajya Sabha on its own, and will need support from one of the national parties with their surplus votes for this.

Minimum 44 votes are required for candidates to win.

Speculation is rife that congress is likely to support JD(S) with its surplus votes if the regional party fields Mr Gowda, and in return may seek favour during legislative council polls slated later this month.

Though JD(S) legislators are of the unanimous opinion that Mr Gowda should contest Rajya Sabha polls, the 87-year-old leader is said to be undecided and weighing options.

If he contests and wins, this will be the second Rajya Sabha entry for him, the first time being in 1996 as Prime Minister.

June 9 is the last date for filing nominations.

Stating that on June 8, Mallikarjun Kharge will file his nomination for Rajya Sabha polls, DK Shivakumar requested party workers not to come to Congress office or Vidhana Soudha, where the nomination will be filed, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Let your love and affection continue, but let's not create problems by gathering here. After the election is over, and once he (Kharge) wins, you can greet and congratulate him. Let's not bring a bad name to his seniority for not maintaining social distancing by gathering," he said.
