Coffee planter shoots self

Hassan, Mar 14:  A coffee planter committed suicide by shooting himself at Nadanahalli in Sakleshpur taluk on Tuesday afternoon.

Suresh, 48, shot himself with his single barrel gun around 2 p.m., soon after having lunch at home. He is survived by wife and two children.

According to the police, Suresh has grown coffee and pepper on his 10-acre plantation. He had borrowed loans from banks and private persons and was worried about clearing them, said the police. Often, he had spoken to his family members about the loan.

The Sakleshpur Rural police made arrangements to shift the body for post-mortem at Sakleshpur town.

Mangaluru, May. 21: The Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI Mangaluru) is held the Eid Kits distribution program on Wednesday, 27th day of Ramadan (20.05.2020) at BCCI office in Kankanady, Mangaluru. 

It distributed around 250 kits including some cash amount to the needy

BCCI president Mr S. M. Rasheed Haji, vice president Mr. Abdul Rauf Puthige, Administrative Secretary Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed, and Executive Members  Mr. Mumtaz Ali B.M., 
Mr. Mohammad Haris,
Mr. Mohammad Sharief, Mr.  Asif Soofikhan were present.

Mandya, Apr 3: Following the lock down in the country, people habit ventured into Liquor bottles worth several lakhs of rupees have been stolen at two places in the district.

Miscreants targeted a wine store at Chikka Mandya on the outskirts of the town in the early hours and also made away with the stock from a wine store near Hadly Circle in Malavalli town late night on Thursday. The incidents came to light on Friday.

A window was broken open at Chikka Mandya store and a wall was drilled at Malavalli store to take away the cartons, the police said.
