Police resorted to mild baton charge to disperse mob at Kalladka junction within an hour after armed miscreants hacked Mohammed Ashraf, SDPI’s Ammunje unit president, to death at Benjanapadavu on Wednesday morning.

As part of precautionary measures, the police asked the locals in Kalladka to shut down their shops and commercial establishments and remain at homes.

Meanwhile, RSS leader Prabhakar Bhat along with his followers reportedly forced some locals to open their shops. This led to a tense situation in the town for some time. When local residents began to gather, police intervened and canned the mob.

The local residents accused Kalladka Bhat of deliberately trying to disrupt peace in the society. Security was further tightened in the town after the murder.

Deputy Commissioner K G Jagadeesha and Inspector General of Police (Western Range) P Harishekaran also visited Kalladka to oversee the security measures.

Bengaluru, May 25: After facing flak from the opposition for skipping quarantine rules to contain COVID-19 spread, Union Minister Sadananda Gowda on Monday said there are certain exemption clauses for those who hold certain responsible posts, adding that he cannot go under quarantine as he has to ensure medical supply in every part of the country.

"Guidelines are applicable to all citizens, but there are certain exemption clauses, for those who hold certain responsible posts," Gowda told media on being asked about allegations by opposition parties that he did not go to required institutional quarantine after domestic air travel from Delhi to Bengaluru.

"I am a Minister and I am heading Pharmaceutical Ministry. If the supply of medicines and other things is not proper then what doctors can do for patients, is it not a failure of government? It' is my responsibility to ensure the supply of medicines to each corner of the country," he said.

Earlier in the day, the BJP MP, who arrived at Bengaluru airport from Delhi and straight away got into his car and drove to his residence. He skipped the institutional quarantine measures as set by the Central government.

Karnataka Director General of Police Praveen Sood said: "Incoming domestic flight passengers from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will undergo 7-day institutional Quarantine followed by home quarantine."

Tumakuru, Jan 8: RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat stoked controversy on Wednesday by stating that 'Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is full of traitors'.

He was addressing the media after taking part in a pro-CAA rally organised by National Citizens Forum near the office of the deputy commissioner of the district here.

Bhat said, “JNU is full of traitors. Congress and communist parties have been generating anti-nationals there. But there is no need to close the university down. Modi government will handle it.”

“Nationalism should be infused among the students there through love and trust. They should be made to realize what the truth is,” he said.

Unfortunate, still he has poor followers to believe him.

He is safe at home and sacrifiers are poor boys who blindly believe and obey him.

This guy is sick and irriversible.

God will reward him so that his followers believe his exploiting orders.
